What?  Wednesday again?  I’m two and a half weeks into Tour de France watching and exhausted having just watched today’s mountain stage. What will I do with my morning’s after Sunday’s last stage?  Ahh, well, on to today’s challenge, the Weekly Photo Challenge.  Finding an apt photo can be as challenging as winning a Tour stage (well, maybe not) and today I’m searching for one that meets the challenge of “Unusual” posed to us by an excellent photographer, Lignum Draco.

I was blessed to be able to spend just a very, very short time in Yosemite in March.  During that stay, I had this unusual view of the park.  I also had an unusually hard time trying to get this photo ready to upload.  🙂

Wow, what a stunning view to capture – beautifully done! 🙂

  2. Emilio Pasquale says:

Wow. What a beauty. I would have probably dropped my camera in awe, much like my jaw dropping when viewing this. Truly unusual! Love it!

    • By the time I saw this on the way out, my jaw was dragging on the ground from all the beauty like this while still in the park. It was a magical morning. (And my camera has a neck strap, which helps.) 🙂

So tranquil and a nice POV, Janet. It looks like you were in a low flying aircraft.

I love it!! I’m always a fan of places with so much fog moving along the mountains 🙂

  5. Perhaps it is an unusual view of the park, I don’t know. Which is true it that your picture is so beauty!

    • Carlos, as I don’t live there and Google seems to have no information, I can’t confirm how unusual such a sight is. But I haven’t seen lots of fog photos, so for me, it was unusual. I’m glad you like it and thanks for commenting.

  6. For sure it’s shrouded J. But is it unusual? That is the question.

  7. Jeanne says:

    Shrouded indeed…perfect.

  8. Sue says:

    Great image, Janet! Perfect!! 😉

  9. Irene says:

    Wow! Stunning.

  10. Sandra says:

I agree, what will we do after Sunday? I’m wondering what I ever did with my afternoons this summer. Lovely photo.

    • Thanks, Sandra. Yes, I spend all morning (here) running around during commercials trying to get things done. Thankfully, Sunday’s edition will be done before I have to go to church. It’s been a bit dire the two previous weeks, with me sneaking a surreptitious look now and then at my Tour app. 🙂

Stunning photo Janet. I’m grateful for your efforts!

  13. What a view… Truly epic, and those dramatic clouds make it look like something out of a painting. I’ve still never been to Yosemite but it’s on my shortlist of excursions. This is just the inspiring reminder I needed to make it happen.

    • Hannah, you’re so close that you have to go. But make it in the off-season, at least after school starts, and during the week if possible. I hadn’t been there since I was a child and it was such a joy.

This is beautiful. Yosemite is one of my dreams. 🙂 And I felt like that after Wimbledon.

    • Yosemite is a truly beautiful place, Jo. I hope you get a chance to visit there one day. I also felt this way after the Stanley Cup playoffs, as (ice) hockey is perhaps my favorite sport of all.

It’s strange that even when the skies and mountains are beaming with pride in the photo (for their strength and height), a human can capture them so easily.. Unusual.. Truly is..

  21. Hammad Rais says:

Perfectly unusual. Clouds, light and delicate, covering the mighty mountains.

  22. Very unusual indeed …. nicely captured, Janet.

  23. Tina Schell says:
