It’s been a wonderful three plus weeks (yes, you’ll hear all about it) and now I’m back in northern Illinois. I’ve missed you!! Hopefully all of you have been doing well while I was taking my Wyoming break. I’ve seen some of you in Instagram when I could get the internet, but now I’ll be able to catch up with what’s going on in your lives and on your blogs.

All to ooften in the last years, August in the Bighorn Mountains has been quite dry, but this year there was plenty of moisture, which meant that wildflowers still abounded. Here’s a cluster that caught my eye and my phone lens while on an afternoon hike on sunny day.

  1. Welcome back J. Your absence did not impact MB’s prolific production line – you’ll no doubt be pleased to hear. Copious high caliber posts from MB await your oohs & aahs & OMGs. Aahalan wa Sahalan (you are welcome – in Arabic). Don’t mention J!

    • Bonjour, MB. Good to hear from you. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when I say “catching up with all of you”, I refer to starting from today. If I tried to cover the three weeks just past, non-blogging life would have to come to a stop. I’m glad my absence didn’t adversely effect you blog posts. I WAS a bit worried about that. πŸ™‚

  5. I always love wild flowers, clashing colours which go perfectly well hand in hand! Glad you had such a great trip. x

  6. What a gorgeous bouquet nature put together for you! Welcome back!

    • Thanks, Deborah. God’s beautiful work was truly on display the entire time and I enjoyed every minute of it. I was also glad to get home and find my perennial garden, new this spring, to be flourishing. πŸ™‚

    Those colors! Lovely, lovely.

We’re off to Colorado mid-September. Craving that crisp mountain air, the solitude and the grandeur of nature.

Looking forward to your Wyoming snaps! πŸ™‚

    • Have a blast in Colorado! I worked for several years in Steamboat Springs right after college and then went to grad school in Greeley, as well as skied there during college, so it has a special place in my heart.
