From the other side and then home

No, this isn’t some after-death experience post, so sorry if you came here expecting something different.  We’ve seen a lot of views in and from the Bighorn Mountains, but what do they look like seen from “down below?”  What’s the view I see on arrival that makes my heart beat a bit faster and my soul sigh with contentment?

We’ve gotten our books and groceries, so it time to head home.  Before we get to the Red Grade Road, let’s stop for a moment (no cars coming) and take a look at where we’re heading.  Be careful driving here just at dusk or at dawn.  There are deer everywhere and they can seriously damage your car/van/truck!

It’s a much clearer view today than the day with all the smoke.  Do you recognize Black Tooth?  We’re almost back.

The waterproofing Mom and I did is finally drying, so let’s get the chairs back out on the porch, the better to relax.

It’s almost sunset, time for a walk towards the lake to enjoy the view.  You can just see the main cabin area in the distance.

Seeing this means it’s time to sit, relax, and talk about the day.  Maybe we’ll head over to the neighboring cabin for a bit of company.  Whatever sounds good to you.  If you want to stay up a bit later, we can come out when it’s dark and you’ll see more stars than you’ve ever imagined, one big benefit of no ambient light!

  5. Janet, what a glorious place, and you must feel totally relaxed.

  6. From your porch I can almost smell the heady pine forest, and the scent of the sealer you applied and automatically I breathed in deeply as if I could drink it all in while I stopped there to gaze at the foliage outside of your wood planks, and that railing.

YES, YES, YES! To thousands, no. Millions of stars in the night sky! Which direction does your porch face?

  11. Well, they always say that the grass is greener on the other side, but I’m discovering that isn’t always true… And that amber straw is pretty gorgeous in it’s own right anyway. Love your unique perspectives, from either side. 🙂

Just the dose of tranquility I need to start the day. Thanks Janet!
