I can’t believe we only have a few days left. Where’s the time gone? We’ve had lots of great rides, seen moose and deer, reveled in all the flowers, hiked, watched the horse, and sat on the porch relaxing. That’s what I was planning to do tonight, but it looks like it might be a pretty sunset. Let’s head up to the top of the hill and see what it looks like.
Phew, the air at 7,000′ has a lot less oxygen than where I live! I’m huffing and puffing like the horses do when we ride up these steep slopes, but now we’re doing the work of the horses. Thankfully, we don’t have saddles and people on our backs!
Oh, my goodness! Look at that! It was worth the climb. Look at the colors in the sky.
It’s so quiet except for the munching of the horses eating. I’m not sure why these some of them keep coming near us. Maybe they think we have food. But I’m too busy being overwhelmed by the sky to pay attention. Now look at the colors!!
I’m without words.. Each time we look, it’s more spectacular.
What a show, but now it’s over. We both walk silently back to the cabin, reliving the stunning views we just enjoyed. Quite the sendoff!
I see that today Ben at WordPress is featuring the theme “Glorious.” I think this definitely fits as well as for Jo’s Monday Walk. Cheers!
Great pictures though.
I’m glad you liked them.

the photos are wonderful… it#s the opposite to cat stevens morning has broken songs… and this end of a day deserved a song too :o)
Beautiful. 🙂
Every time I looked, I took another photo, as each view seemed more spectacular than the last. 🙂

I’d miss that….
I do.

That totally fits the theme, Janet. What a wonderful sequence. Thanks for sharing these beautiful scenes with us.
Thanks for hiking along, Dan. The climb up is much easier on the back of a horse and I was in quite a hurry so as not to miss the sunset. But it was well worth it!
It’s definitely your happy place, Janet! 🙂 🙂 Thank you for a glorious evening stroll.
My pleasure, Jo. So glad you could come along. The horses are probably wondering what a large herd of humans are doing up there! But it doesn’t seem to bother them or interrupt their eating.
Janet, that was a nice farewell for you: gorgeous.
Sally, it was a beautiful farewell, the best of more than a few lovely sunsets while I was there.
Absolutely gorgeous and probably worth the huffing and puffing to get up there 🙂
It was, without a doubt, Madison. I actually jogged (slowly) most of the way up, with my Nikon for added weight. These shots, though, were taken with my iPhone.

Whew! Good job!
🙂
Thanks for taking us up to see this fantastic sunset, Janet. Enjoyed the nod to the elevation and breathless hiking, this is a striking surprise when we’re not at our usual elevation. Gorgeous scenery and photos.
Thanks for joining me, Jet. Sitting on the porch for a bit when I got back to the cabin felt quite nice. 🙂
Astonishing. Views like that make the word “awesome” truly appropriate.
I agree. “Awesome” is a much over-used and diluted word these days, but this truly was.

Oh what a hill, and view! It was glorious! I think it’s neat that the horses came near you to be part of that beautiful and memorable send off.
I was up there a few other times when the horses were out and once when I started back down, a group followed me for some distance before realizing, I guess, that they didn’t have to come in and grazing would be much more fun. 🙂 It truly was a glorious sigh, each moment seemingly better than the previous one.

What a glorious sky and what a treat to see moments like these! Thank you so much for sharing Janet :o) xxx
Sky afire! Lovely stuff 🙂
It was amazing.

So beautiful, Janet! Wow!
One of the best I’ve ever seen, Lisa.
Just as deserved: glorious. Safe travels.
Lucile, I’m already home, but making the story of the trip sound as if you were there with me.

That sunset was a beautiful “send off”, Janet. Thanks for bringing us along on your visit to Wyoming.

Thanks for coming along, Allan. I think you’ll enjoy the Badlands as well.

Let’s saddle-up!

I think we’ll drive. It’s a very long horseback ride. 🙂
Beautiful and stunning captures! Thank you for sharing them …. I am still breath-taken!
I’m so happy you liked them that much. 🙂 That always makes it worth sharing.
