Thursday Doors…indoors

Sorry, but “indoors” aren’t like in or out belly buttons.  These beauties are from the Art Institute of Chicago.  I did a post on some other indoors doors at some point in the past and perhaps that will show up at the bottom of this post.  But either way, enjoy the craftsmanship that’s on display here.

To get the World Wide Door channel, surf over to Norm’s blog up north in Montreal.  Once this week’s post is up, I’ll update the link to go right to this week’s Thursday Doors post.

Detail. Sorry about the reflection. 🙂

  1. I always wanted such an artpiece… with many drawers and doors… and doors behind the doors :O)

  2. joey says:

Beautiful collection. Each one more remarkable than the one before. Kinda fond of the floral door, myself.

  3. Dan Antion says:

Those are beautiful works of art. I know they were originally functional items, but they have moved up in the hierarchy.

  4. Ally Bean says:

Those doors are elegant and such a reminder of what people used to prize. Great photos. I like the huge clock. If only I had somewhere to put it in the house… 😉

  5. What a collection, such detail.

  6. Norm 2.0 says:

    Stunning pieces of artwork 🙂
    Beautiful post Janet.

What gorgeous doors! I’d love to have the one with all the drawers. I love nooks and crannies.

  8. Wow! These doors are works of art and beautiful!

  9. jesh stg says:

My favorite art piece is definitely the first one! It has “presence” with simple lines. Also I like how the artist finishing touches. Thanks for sharing it with us:)

    • I like that one, too, Jesh. The other two, while lovely, are a bit too busy for me to do more than admire. The first one I could have in my house. 🙂 So glad you enjoyed them.

  10. Those are beautiful! All the intricate details that went into them must have taken some time and a skilled hand. 🙂 -Amy

Nice doorfie profile in that last one! I think my favorite is the first one. So smooth and simply beautiful. But they’re each stunning, each in its own way. Great post!

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
