The colors of fall have finally arrived and are reaching their peak. But we know that on the other side are scenes like this. I’m good with that. I love winter and I love snow. Without snow, winter is perpetually grey, cold, and boring. With snow, it’s Christmas every day.
Falling Snow
Amy Lowell
The snow whispers around me
And my wooden clogs
Leave holes behind me in the snow.
But no one will pass this way
Seeking my footsteps,
And when the temple bell rings again
They will be covered and gone.

Oh that looks so cold, but very beautiful. You should tag it to Ailsa’s challenge of “cold” this week.
Thanks for the heads-up, Pauline. She has a good challenge, but I can’t always keep up with all the entries in all the different challenges. 😦

I’ve told myself to cut back on posts this time… but I’m slowly getting sucked back in. It is kinda addictive 🙄
I completely understand. We’re in the same boat. 🙂
The first time I see bare trees outlined in white is always a reminder of why I enjoy living where there are four seasons.
I completely agree, Dan. 🙂 This day was a beautiful one and I was the only one in the park enjoying it and the silence.

Nice photo, Janet. I, too, love Winter. It is the one time of the year that we can appreciate the structure and framework of the trees, barren of leaves blocking our sight.

It’s easier to see birds such as hawks and we can peek at all the nests in the trees, too. 🙂
That, too.

I think that winter is the most punishing, depressing time of year, but I love seeing it through your lens. I wish I could always have that perspective!
Hannah, you can sit in the sun and enjoy it from there. 🙂

That’s a lovely photo. Coming from Australia, a snow scene like this is a beautiful sight to me. 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Lignum, and you can be nice and warm while doing so. 🙂

YES! SNOW! I love snow, too 🙂
If there’s going to be winter, there must be snow!!

Beautiful shot Janet. And l really like the poem too. 🙂
Thanks, Sue. I really like Amy Lowell’s poetry and I do love snow. 🙂
Love the snow and ice and fog, Janet. Send me some. It is getting hot at home now – summer on the way.
I’ll try packaging some and get it off ASAP. 🙂
Much appreciated …lol
