Looks ready to run if that leaf makes a move….
Or if I did. 🙂
janet
Haha… yes keep very still Janet if you want that photo…
Wonderful B&W! I’m putting my money on the leaf. One shiver and lizard will run. 😉
Agreed!
I’m pretty sure you’re right. 🙂
Haha! Good one!
🙂
Very nice B&W shot.
Thanks, Dan. Happy Wednesday.
I love how simple this is, just the lizard and the leaf and nothing else. Wonderful!
Thanks very much, Aixa. 🙂
Beautiful use of available light, Janet. I like the gradient of light and dark on the leaf contrasted with the direct sun on the lizard. Ω
A little judicious edit helped that out, Allan. Thanks.
Restraint is the most difficult part of editing photos, Janet, and you pulled it off. Ω
Great photo! Did you have to wait ages, or did he appear right in front of you?
I don’t remember, Georgie. It was some time ago during a visit to my parents in Arizona. These little guys are all over.

The spare composition and use of negative space definitely implies a bit of tension here… But I would have to imagine that the lizard can’t be too worried about the composition. Seems like an easy pushover to me. 😉
He (or she?) was really just pausing for a moment. Then off for who knows where? 🙂
What a great standoff image. So much drama in the little worlds we often miss.
Simplicity and complexity at the same time.
Thanks. 😊
Great shot!
Thanks, Su.
