Changing holidays

A few days ago, the sun shone in on my Thanksgiving gourds and pumpkins as well as on the pile of shimmery Christmas garlands waiting to be used, perfectly highlighting the change from Thanksgiving to Christmas, fall to winter. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  🙂

What a pretty scene. Thanks for sharing that.

I think it affords promisein its way. Anticipation, visual and emotional stimulus. We sort of forget a lot of other things when we focus on the holidays in the right way. Lovely photo.

    • Advent is all about waiting, so maybe this photo is more about the transition from Thanksgiving to waiting for Christmas. I’m going to be putting up decorations today, something I always love. I’m looking forward to our daughters being home for a nice long bit and one of my s-i-l’s being here for a few days around Christmas. Christ’s birth, family, friends, and fun. What more could I ask? 🙂

Very cool picture! I love when stuff like that happens.

It does have its moments 🙂 🙂 I was at a rather nice Christmas fair at lunchtime and being serenaded by some very youthful choir members.

    • Lovely. Christmas is my favorite holiday and music is a big part of that. We always do lots of special music for church and of course, I’m part of praise team every Sunday, which I love. Getting Christmas decorations up here at home today

Beautiful image Janet. The light and composition are lovely, but I think the symbolism is central to the shot’s success.

Now that is picture perfect!! The light shining through is just the icing on the cake!! —-Ginger—-

That is quite simply a gorgeous photo Janet – simply superb! As for the changeover – I told my husband I absolutely refused to put up the wreath until he got rid of the pumpkins LOL!! So he did and I did – happy holidays!

    • Praise from the praiseworthy is the best kind, Tina. Thank you so much. I never put up any Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving and I had a good time putting them up today. I got most of them up, so it looks nice and Christmas-y in the house and I still have a few to go. Christmas is my favorite season, so I’m happy and our girls will be home in a few weeks.

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
