“We went down into the silent garden. Dawn is the time when nothing breathes, the hour of silence. Everything is transfixed, only the light moves.”
~Leonora Carrington
“Ô, Sunlight! The most precious gold to be found on Earth.”
~Roman Payne
“The Sun will rise and set regardless. What we choose to do with the light while it’s here is up to us. Journey wisely.”
~Alexandra Elle
Excellent first light shots. By coincidence, I have just watched a BBC documentary on the life of Leonora Carrington – a fascinating if slightly tragic figure.
I don’t know anything about her, Robin. I just found the quote. I have to look her up.

I love the morning light in the winter, when the sun shines through the bare trees. Beautiful photos, Janet.
Thanks, Dan. It’s interesting how light can be so different in the morning or in the evening or during the day.
It’s so good that we have so many options to capture these moments – and share them!
I agree. 🙂
Thanks for sharing the light 🙂
I’m very happy to do so. Enjoy your day.

Oh, how beautiful! That wonderful Maxfield Parrish blue and gold! Thank you for a feast for the eyes this morning, as always.
Thanks so much, Marian. Thanks for taking a walk with me to enjoy the light and have a wonderful day.

These are so beautiful….the way you caught the light. —-Ginger—-
It’s such a different light from after the sun is completely up.

Light is everything
It is, isn’t it?

Gorgeous morning light, Janet. The last one says “Winter” to me.

Beautiful! I overslept this morning, so you have given me a wonderful unexpected “fix” of dawn. Thanks Janet 🙂
Hurrah!! Always glad to be of service, Su.
🙂
Even barren, frozen trees look positively inspiring and uplifting through your lens. I love getting your perspective on this landscape.
And I love that you love it, Hannah. I hope you’re enjoying your week so far.

Ravishing pictures, Janet… I know nothing about photography, but I know beauty when I see it, in words and pictures, and I loved the words you chose as well as the pics…
Just been writing to my son who is overwhelmed at the moment by the challenge of looking after a quadraplegic step-daughter, and I used words very like the ones you chose…
Oh, I can’t imagine how difficult that must be, Valerie. Blessings on him for taking on the job. Not everyone would. I’m happy you enjoyed my photos and words. I always enjoy your words as well. 🙂
Oh, just beautiful! Love this! I thought the first one was breathtaking, but then I saw the snow! 😀 LOL Love, love, love!
