Yesterday WordPress sent me a notification that it was my 6 year blogging anniversary. Six years. Wow! Who’d a thunk? I never imagined when I made my tentative start that six years later I would still be blogging and still loving it. Heck, I didn’t even realize I’d have to have a blog name when I reached the end of the signing up process!
I had no idea that I would meet a number of fellow bloggers in person in places like San Francisco, Kansas City, Branson (Missouri), Philadelphia, Chicago, and even France in places like China Town, homes, writer’s conferences, coffee shops, libraries, and aboard a barge on a French river in full spate, or that I’d be chatting with people from all over the world. What fun! One of my goals is to meet many more of you in person.
Thanks for being a part of that. I love “talking” with many of you daily and appreciate you stopping by so often. I enjoy reading your blogs, too, and being inspired by your writing a/o photography, sharing in your sorrows, and joining in your laughter. I like having a beer with you, opening doors around the world, reading stories/poetry/haiku, finding oddball photos, and seeing vistas I may never see in person while accompanying you on a walk/hike/flight/dive.
Other than my “About” page, my most popular post has been this one, just over three years ago:
https://sustainabilitea.wordpress.com/2015/01/30/weekly-photo-challenge-depth/
The post most viewed is one about Al Stewart’s song “Roads to Moscow.” I have no idea why it gets so many regular views, but since I published it in 2012, it’s been viewed almost every month of each year, even though it gets no additional “likes” or “comments.” In 2014, it was viewed 791 times and when I search for it on Bing, my post is at the bottom of page 2 of the results. Go figure (or go read and listen…and “like” and “comment”?)

So to you, my readers and friends, I raise a glass to each of you and…
…offer you this bouquet as a token of my thanks for the good times past, present, and future. Cheers!
Congrats 🙂
Thanks very much. 😉

Your very welcome 🙂
Well done Janet, that’s a great achievement. Isn’t it funny when you can’t work out why a particular post gets so many views over others you’ve written?? Cheers to you 🙂
It really is odd, Debbie. Some, like my advice for new bloggers, I could understand, but this one is about something many people haven’t even heard of, so I don’t have a clue. Since no one comments, I can’t even ask. 🙂
happy blog-o-versary… I think I will celebrate today with the walnut sauce from your blog :O)))
🙂 Makes me happy to read that and will make you happy to eat it. Win-win.
janet
Fab! Who would a thunk, indeed! I need to find some bubbly to toast you!!
Thanks, Sue, and enjoy. 🙂
janet
congrats Janet, it is worth a bubbly moment. I does take a commitment to keep the blog going.
Congrats ☺️
Thanks very much. 🙂
janet
congrats, and here’s to many more )
I hope so, too. Thanks for being part of the whole experience.

Cheers, Janet. It’s lovely to know you here in webland. Well done on the six years!
Thanks, Tish, and the same to you. For most of those years, I blogged every day, but starting last year, I took breaks while traveling and over Christmas. Made it much nicer, even though I miss everyone when I’m taking time off.
It’s best to keep some boundaries. I need to practice that too.
Well done Janet!
Thanks so much, Aletta. 🙂
Congrats, friend, and may 2018 be another good one where we enjoy all your beautiful photos, especially the horses. 🙂
Thanks, Judy, and I appreciate you being a part of the whole experience. I’ll strive to be around horses more just for you. 🙂
janet
Congrats! thats quite the achievement
Thanks! 🙂
janet

Happy Anniversary! I’m glad our paths crossed in the blogging world and in real life 🙂 Here’s to many more years for you making real connections via the virtual community!
Oh, yes, you know you’re right at the top of the list for in-person visits, Madison! Happy for FF and OWL.
janet
Happy blog-a-versary! I should make a card for that 🙂 Six years is a great accomplishment. Here’s to many more!
Thanks, J2. You could make a virtual card for that. 🙂
janet
Happy Anniversary, Janet. I’m certainly glad I found this site.

Congrats Janet. 😀 😀
Thank you, Cee. I see the Oddball Challenge is back. I may have to get back into it after I return from Arizona.
Congratulations Janet on the six year milestone! Wonderful!
Thanks, Nicole. Looking forward to an in-person meeting in “the city” one of these months. 🙂
Me too Janet! I will get there!
Congratulations, Janet. Thanks for the look back at your journey and the memorable posts along the way.

My pleasure, Allan. Thanks for being a part of it.
🙂 Congratulations, dear Janet!
A big CHEERS to you from this side of the world!
xo 🙂
Vielen dank, Claudia!
Congrats on the milestone. Hopefully there’ll be many more to come. I’m sure we’ll get around to meeting in person one of these years. All the best for 2018 😀
Thanks, Norm, and I hope we do get to meet in person. In the meantime, I’m just glad I found the TD challenge. 🙂

Hearty congratulations, Janet, with wishes for many more!
Thanks. I hope so, too. 🙂
Cheers and congrats! Well deserved celebration.. Always enjoy visiting here. You’re right, what an unexpected experience the blog world is.
Happy Blogoversary, and cheers to many more! It’s such an amazing thing how this little sliver of digital life can ultimately have such a deep impact on your everyday life, huh? At least that’s been the experience for me. So glad that this crazy online world has brought us together, and I hope one day we can meet out in the real world as well!
I agree, Hannah, and hope that we’ll get to meet one day in the not-too-distant future.
janet
Salut Janet! May there be many more blogging years to come. 🙂
Thanks very much, Deborah, and I hope we’ll be meeting in person one day soon.
I hope so too! I just know I’ll be thinking about you and wishing you were with me on my photography trip this summer photographing Wild Mustangs. I’m so excited and can’t wait for that week!
That would be SO much fun!!
I am limited to 30 pounds b/c we’re going into the wild on horseback with pack horses carrying our food, camping gear and clothes etc for the 4 days we’re on the trip. I’m bringing the very minimum I need for clothes and toiletries. The bulk of my weight will be gear. I am obsessed with this trip and planning for it is never far from my thoughts right now.
I guess that means you can’t sneak me along in your pack, Deborah. Drat!! I’m so excited for you and look forward to the photographic results!!
🙂
Congratulations, Janet! And yes – the blogosphere is really something to be a part of! ♥
It is, Leya, a good one for the most part
Congratulations Janet. Meeting you on WP has been such a pleasure; I enjoy our conversations greatly, and love seeing and reading about your world. Now we just have to get you to NZ! 🙂
You know how much we want to come, Su. Hopefully it will happen. I feel the same about meeting you and reading about NZ and your life.
Thanks Janet. I’m sure we’ll manage to meet face to face sometime.
We could always Skype. 🙂
Congratulations Janet that is a great achievement. I agree one of the best parts of blogging is the interaction and learning about other parts of the world and lifestyles. I’ll drink to your achievement and love the colourful bouquet. ” Cheers” here’s to the next 6 years…
Thanks so much, Pauline!
And you’ve still got lots of friends now 🙂 🙂 Late happy anniversary! I should take more notice of my stats.
I don’t look too often, but this was in my comment section, so it was quite obvious. Hard to remember when I wasn’t blogging. 🙂
janet
I have a similar post to yours. It shows up on a very early page (I think it is page 1 on Google) and gets viewed (or, at least, did) a lot. Why does 791 sound so familiar? I will have to check. Anyway, mine turned out to be because I used a pic which turned out to be very popular for “minotaurs”, a poem I wrote was about one, so I used the pic. I think it was a free one, if not, someone should look and tell me – I would pull it.
So nice to know you all these years. I guess I have been blogging a bit longer, but you are one of those I remember from early on.
Scott
And you as well, Scott. 🙂
janet
Congratulations, Janet, and best wishes for more in the months and years ahead!
Thanks very much, Joanne.
Lovely dear
Thanks very much, Mariam.
