Yesterday WordPress sent me a notification that it was my 6 year blogging anniversary.  Six years. Wow! Who’d a thunk?  I never imagined when I made my tentative start that six years later I would still be blogging and still loving it.  Heck, I didn’t even realize I’d have to have a blog name when I reached the end of the signing up process!

I had no idea that I would meet a number of fellow bloggers in person in places like San Francisco, Kansas City, Branson (Missouri), Philadelphia, Chicago, and even France in places like China Town, homes, writer’s conferences, coffee shops, libraries, and aboard a barge on a French river in full spate, or that I’d be chatting with people from all over the world.  What fun!  One of my goals is to meet many more of you in person.

Thanks for being a part of that.  I love “talking” with many of you daily and appreciate you stopping by so often.  I enjoy reading your blogs, too, and being inspired by your writing a/o photography, sharing in your sorrows, and joining in your laughter. I like having a beer with you, opening doors around the world, reading stories/poetry/haiku, finding oddball photos, and seeing vistas I may never see in person while accompanying you on a walk/hike/flight/dive.

Other than my “About” page, my most popular post has been this one, just over three years ago:

https://sustainabilitea.wordpress.com/2015/01/30/weekly-photo-challenge-depth/

The post most viewed is one about Al Stewart’s song “Roads to Moscow.”  I have no idea why it gets so many regular views, but since I published it in 2012, it’s been viewed almost every month of each year, even though it gets no additional “likes” or “comments.”  In 2014, it was viewed 791 times and when I search for it on Bing, my post is at the bottom of page 2 of the results.  Go figure (or go read and listen…and “like” and “comment”?)

So to you, my readers and friends, I raise a glass to each of you and…

…offer you this bouquet as a token of my thanks for the good times past, present, and future.  Cheers!

  1. Well done Janet, that’s a great achievement. Isn’t it funny when you can’t work out why a particular post gets so many views over others you’ve written?? Cheers to you 🙂

    • It really is odd, Debbie. Some, like my advice for new bloggers, I could understand, but this one is about something many people haven’t even heard of, so I don’t have a clue. Since no one comments, I can’t even ask. 🙂

Congratulations Janet that is a great achievement. I agree one of the best parts of blogging is the interaction and learning about other parts of the world and lifestyles. I’ll drink to your achievement and love the colourful bouquet. ” Cheers” here’s to the next 6 years…

  27. restlessjo says:

And you’ve still got lots of friends now 🙂 🙂 Late happy anniversary! I should take more notice of my stats.

  28. I have a similar post to yours. It shows up on a very early page (I think it is page 1 on Google) and gets viewed (or, at least, did) a lot. Why does 791 sound so familiar? I will have to check. Anyway, mine turned out to be because I used a pic which turned out to be very popular for “minotaurs”, a poem I wrote was about one, so I used the pic. I think it was a free one, if not, someone should look and tell me – I would pull it.
So nice to know you all these years. I guess I have been blogging a bit longer, but you are one of those I remember from early on.
