I was going to join Jo on her Monday walk today, but after getting back home late Thursday night, working Friday followed by Bible study, relaxing a bit Saturday, then church and work today. I’m beat; ready for bed, but wanting to get a Monday post out.
I thought you might enjoy this photo of an unusual tree trunk. The local park service cut down this tree at our nearby pond, but I’ve never seen a design like this before. I find it fascinating, and ironic, that it looks so much like a leaf. I hope it brings a smile to your face and a joyful start to your week.
Now off to bed. Ahhh!
Wow. I’ve never seen the inside of a tree look like this. Great shot Janet 😀
Bill said this morning that maybe it was from the chain saw, which might be logical, but not nearly as interesting. 🙂
Men are so practical 🙂
🙂
It does look like a leaf! Nice 🙂
Definitely different, Dan.

One of Mother Nature’s finest moments. 🙂
My husband said this morning that he thought it might be from the chainsaw, but I’m just enjoying the beauty and irony of it. 🙂

Cool looking leaf pattern, Jan. I’ve never seen anything like it before, either. Welcome back 🙂
Bill thinks maybe from the chain saw. Either way, it’s fun.

Wow! Wonder what caused that???
My husband spoiled it this morning (not really) by suggesting the saw might have made that pattern while the tree was being cut down. Even if so, it’s funny that it’s shaped like a leaf and it still looks cool.

So gorgeous, Janet. Sorry for the tree though. 😦
They manage the parks well, so it either was dying or was too crowded. The tree gave us some unusual beauty even in death.
Very cool. Is it a maple tree? Also interesting that it doesn’t look like the two sections match. Nice find.
Not sure what kind of tree it is, Janet. As for the matching, perhaps another piece was cut off, broken, or something.

Wow! Nice find, Janet!
Thanks, Gordon. It was a lot of fun to spot.
Well seen Janet, so unusual
Definitely eye-catching!
Since the rings in a tree trunk can tell you its age, I wonder what this striking pattern says about its life? What a curious find…
Curious and beautiful.

Great find!
Glad you agree, Joey. 🙂
janet
It did! I hope you get rested.
I’m working on it. 🙂

I have never seen a tree trunk looking like that before!
I either, Aletta.

They must have cut into the memory bank of the tree, Janet. A one-of-a-kind image.

I don’t know how that pattern got there, but I’m thrilled I saw it. Thanks, Allan.
That was a unique tree, and wonderful find!
Deborah, it’s one of the most amazing things I’ve seen recently.
janet
That’s so neat!! Wow!
Glad you like it, Britt. I thought it was pretty cool, too.
