It makes me smile every year when I visit Mom and Dad. It’s just down the street from their house. One year I caught a bird in the opening. No doubt it had a nest inside, but it was such a cool shot.

Interesting photo! Why do people feel the need to deface plants like this? Isn’t their imagination enough?
No need to worry, Lenore. This is just how the cactus is and inside that opening is usually a bird’s next. There’s another cactus a few houses away that looks a bit like a face as well, only not with this astonished expression. It’s all natural (except the hole, which probably was made by birds.)
