Thoughts of spring in my heart

Can a heart have thoughts?  It must, because with the snow melting, the weather warming, the sun out, my fancies turn not to love (I’m blessed to already have that), but to spring.  To that warmth that isn’t really warm except by contrast.  To the brave bits of bright colors peeping out from under all those neutrals.  To the life lurking under all that mud.  To the sounds of birds and dripping water.  To the rebirth of life.

This is what my heart sees.

ahhh – such lovely words, Janet – read so nicely – and the photo reminded me that around this time of Feb we usually have daffodils outside – and need to go look on the side to see if they emerged yet (and cheers to thoughts ofspring)

  2. ksbeth says:

    beautiful – and me too!

  3. Dan Antion says:

    Soon enough, Janet. It’s coming.

  4. These thoughts in your heart made me smile! I’m feeling the same way. Spring is beginning to bloom here. My flowering plum is in bloom, and I’m noticing Tulip green popping up, and some Daffodils here and there. It’s coming!

    • Of course there you’re ahead of us, but don’t you think the anticipation of spring is one of the exciting things about it? One of the best things about seasons is anticipating the next one (although I supposed many don’t look forward to winter, but I do.)

  5. Jackie says:

What a gorgeous photo! I do love spring.

  6. Ron. says:

Oh we are a loooooong way from blosssomville here in the Northeast Kingdom…

  7. I second your sentiments that were so eloquently worded! I have not yet seen the daffodils or crocus here, but they should be soon.

  8. restlessjo says:

Lovely! It’s usually worth waiting for. 🙂 🙂 Have a great weekend, Janet!

  9. Lovely – daffodils are my favourite flowers. 🙂

  11. pommepal says:

So good to see you are at last getting signs of spring

  12. Leya says:

Lovely shot…here it is very cold now and we are expecting more snow. But – I can dream, just like you

  13. Ali says:

Yes, spring is little tiny pops of colour against neutrals. And flashes of sunshine between cloud!

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
