Hillsdale, Michigan is home to Hillsdale College as well as to many elegant old homes. Our older daughter attended Hillsdale, giving me a chance to walk around the town one day some years ago, during which time I spotted a few Thursday Door-worthy doors.
You can’t see much of the door in the next shot, but the other details on the house are worth it.
You can virtually travel across North America and around the world to view doors heading over to Norm’s blog. You’ll enjoy it, even thought it’s still snowing in Montreal. Dress warmly!
i’ve been there and it really is a charming place )
It is and Hillsdale is an excellent college. We were very happy she went there.

Love that green house!
Isn’t that something?
janet
Love the first one – it has absolutely everything. 🙂
🙂 To my mind, the only thing missing is a porch, at least a small one, which would be nice in winter or in rain and to sit out on during the summer. But other than that…

Oh wow! Those doors are charming. What a beautiful neighborhood.
It was filled with lovely, yet not pretentious homes, places where a normal person could actually live.

I like that first door, the dark red brick around it is very complimentary.
I agree they did a good job with the brick work.

The first door is a beauty, Janet. The notches in the brickwork pattern allow room for the essentials: mail, lights, motion sensor, and a receptacle.

It was evidently well planned, Allan. 🙂

OMG that owl! And to be able to sit on a window seat in that curve. Love the brick one too. All so interesting.
They have some lovely homes in this small town.
janet
Lovely neat houses, Janet. I love the owl above the window. 🙂
That house had a lot of great details, Sylvia.
Lovely stuff, especially the decorative brickwork in that first one 🙂
That is special, isn’t it, Norm?

It’s always nice to see a well preserved Victorian, isn’t it?
It is, JT.

These are great, Janet. I like that first door, but I love that upper story bay in the bottom picture.
I’d love to have a bay window with a view and a window seat for reading, Dan. Maybe some day.
Love that first one!
That seems to be the clear favorite, Angela.

Lovely doors, I’m rather taken with the owl in the eaves too, how unusual!
I think so, too, Vicky, and they’re fun.

Oooo! Storybook style! I purely do LOVE that first door, and the details on that last house!Thank you for sharing!
I’m glad you enjoyed them, Marian. It’s always fun to find good doors and details.

Great choices. I agree about the first one needing a porch – otherwise it would be perfect!
I hope that when we buy our retirement house, it has a great porch. I’d love to be able to sit out on it in the morning or at night.
janet
I hear you. One of the things I would LOVE to have in a new home is a good porch to sit out on with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine!
Right there with you!
