What? Another Wednesday off so I can be part of the Photo Challenge? Life is good. Spring is trying hard to get through, although winter is fighting back, so we’re cold and (often) windy but with spring flowers pushing their leaves daringly upward. Hopefully the below-freezing nights won’t be cold enough to cause damage.
Today’s theme for the Photo Challenge is “Favorite Place”, someplace we love and return to again and again. That’s easy, but I’ll have to try to find a photo I haven’t already used. This is a early dawn photo shot on the day I was leaving last year, unretouched at all. Yes, it’s that beautiful.
It is really about how the Place makes you feel today I think. And from previous post I know you love this spot. Beautiful post.
I do love it, Carol.

I bet this helped to make it hard to leave that day. There’s so much serenity in this photo, Janet.

It’s always difficult to leave, Allan, a joy to arrive and a sadness to leave.
So peaceful!
It is, especially at that time of day. 🙂

It’s easy for me to see why you love this place. Its gorgeous!
I can feel my lungs filling with sweet, country air just looking at that beautiful image Janet. 🙂
Lovely! It reminds me of the feelings I’d get as a kid, sitting on my grandfather’s porch in the Catskill Mountains. It seemed I could look into forever.
It does feel like that and what a lovely forever. 🙂

Such a lovely view, Janet.
Thanks, Sandra. It’s one I love, as you well know. 🙂
It looks very serene. No wonder you keep returning.
I’ve been going there since college, which was many years ago and I love it dearly.

That’s a long time to have a connection with a place. You must know it really well. I don’t have such a long term connection with anywhere. I move around too much.
Because of the altitude, it just a summer place, but I do love it.
Is the famous Custer’s battleground near by?
Yes, it’s not far away, in Montana. We’ve visited.

Calm and beautiful! Just looking at this place is a respite from the city’s hustle and bustle.
That it is and one of the reasons I love it. 🙂

[…] This, that and the other thing Weekly Photo Challenge: Morning in the Big Horns […]
It is a very easy challenge this week as we all have our favourite places and this looks lovely
Some of the challenges are very easy, but this one was, although I could have taken it in a different direction or two.

If you can’t tell if you’ve used it already, I sure won’t be able to. I love the images you share from that place – easy to see why it’s special.
Score one for spring here in CT. Winter tried for a 8-12″ nor’easter but we barely had a flake that survived contact with the ground. Go Spring!
All right for you!! I haven’t shared this particular photo before, but I know what you mean. I’m having the same “trouble” with Thursday Doors. I don’t know which photos I’ve used and since they’re always from my archives, I have to go back to my TD file and go through them all to see. Some I’m sure people would recognize again, such as the furniture doors (you and Norm), but I bet some no one would even know.

No place like the mountains for nature lovers like us Janet – beautifully captured
Thanks, Tina. I love the ocean/water, too, but the mountains have my heart.
