No work today, so I can participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge again. This week’s theme is “Prolific.” In the desert, there are many plants that have a prolific number of spines, such as this cactus. It’s beautiful, but don’t overbalance while admiring it!

I’m not generally taken with cacti, but this is a fab image.
Then I shall take that as a huge compliment, Ali. Thanks so much!

Lovely! I can almost feel my skin snagging on those leaves. 😦
Ha! You just have to keep a respectful distance, Sandra. 😉 Admire from afar.

🙂 A great example, dear Janet!
Have a very HAPPY week 🙂
Thanks very much, Claudia, and you as well. 😉
Looks like an agave perfect for this Challenge. Right to the point.
🙂 Right to many points, Carol!

Sharp observation 🤡
Hmmm. I could go on with this for a long time, but unfortunately, I have to get lunch ready, so I must decline. 🙂
🤣
Looking sharp, in every meaning of the word!
So true. I prefer to admire from a respectful and safe distance, but admire I do.

Nice one J.
Thanks, M. Nice to hear from you.

Been busy with a thesis for an online law degree. Submitted last weekend, one day before the deadline. Expect MB to now come roaring back to the blogosphere!
You’re going to be a lawyer?? Noooooo!
Just kidding. Congratulations and I look forward to seeing you around more.

Masters in International Business Law. There’ll be no stopping me now! And expect MBs posts to become a tad more legalistic from now on!
Gee, I can hardly wait. 😦
Love these – from a distance…
I agree. You should be far enough away from the photo to be safe. 🙂

😁
Look but don’t touch? Nice photo, Janet.
Amazingly, all sorts of birds make nests in cacti, but for us, do NOT touch.
Nice light and texture there, Janet 🙂
Thanks very much, Joey. 🙂
A beautiful balance of light/dark/shape/form. Those barbs are a stern warning to be careful.

That they are, Allan. You trespass at your peril.

Whoa just looking at the spines might result in a cut or two! 🙂 Love the picture.
These are pretty small compared to many of the spines on other cacti, but they could do some serious damage.
janet
Perfect!
Thanks, Lisa. 🙂

What a unique spin on the theme. And, yes, definitely not to touch. Then it’s prolific ouches😬
You’re right about that, Jane. Definitely don’t want prolific ouches!!
janet
Oooooh, poky! I love this. Great lighting, too.
I thought you might like it. My parents live in Arizona, so I get to enjoy cacti at least once a year. 🙂
