The “front yard” of our cabin is a space defined by poles, only there so that when the horses come in from pasture in the morning or go out at night, theyh don’t trample everything right around the cabin or rub against the cabin.  Long horizontal poles are attached to shorter vertical poles, fitting well with the surroundings.  This year, because it was spring and had been wet, there were plenty of flowers in our natural “garden”, many of them lupine.  Purple and white was the major color scheme.

Then, of course, there’s the longer view, with a sky filled with clouds on this day.  Sit back, grab your tea or coffee, and kick back.  After all, it’s vacation!

🙂 this looks so calm and , dear Janet!
and of course I love the purple flowers.
Have a very HAPPY day 🙂

    • It is very calm, Claudia, and I like sitting there even when it’s raining (unless the wind’s blowing the rain onto the porch.) 🙂 I hope you’re enjoying your day as well.

  3. Beautiful. Has the cabin been owned by your family for a long time? Do other members use it during the summer as well? Love your posts from trips there. 🙂

    • My parents bought there when I was in college and that was many, many years ago. Each cabin belongs only to the owners. Our cabin is shared with my brother and his family, although we go at different times of the summer. This place is one of our most treasured possessions, as you can well imagine, and we’re so thankful to my parents for buying it originally and then sharing it with us!!

I think it would be easy to relax there 🙂

It looks like a nice, cool place to relax.

  6. The hitching post! It’s gorgeous there. I love the Lupine, and the long view.

    • None of those are actually hitching posts, Deborah. Not firmly attached enough, although the porch railing would work. I loved seeing the lupine this year. There aren’t many left by fall when we’re usually there. The view? Well, it can’t be beaten. 🙂

  7. Janet, what a joyous place to be. The view, the quiet, time to just be.

I’m jealous! Love the picture with the wagon wheel.

  9. What a beautiful yard! Tall grass and big sky (just like Montana).

Beautiful. The rusted wheel was a great addition.

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
