How I really am

How I see myself.  🙂  (Dianna Rigg as Mrs. Peel in “The Avengers”)

for Debbie’s One Word Sunday

(Apologies if I haven’t gotten to your blog over the last few days. I’ve had to work and just ran out of time!  Today I actually have a Sunday off to spend with my husband, someone I haven’t had time to do anything with for months.  See you soon!)

    Lovely shot Janet 😀

  2. Love this, Janet. This sums up my experience with the way things are too! It’s so irritating to pass by a reflection that doesn’t agree with my mind’s eye, lol.

  3. Dare I say it gets even more interesting as you age. 🙂

    • Ha! Taking selfies, you mean, life in general, or both? 😉 I think I see myself as younger than what I see in the mirror, but the mirror looks younger than sometimes I feel like I look in a photo.

Fantastic! A clever selfie, that doesn’t destroy your self-image 🙂

That’s a great selfie! I remember Mrs. Peel – that was one of my favorite shows.

    Haha! Enjoy your day 😀

  7. Nice photo, Janet. Now for the form-fitting jumpsuit?
    Have fun today.

  8. Neat selfie! I love your ear-ring! Mrs. Peel! I loved that show. At the time that program was on my style and beauty icon was my Mom who I thought ever so chic, beautiful, and smart. She was an engineer, and gorgeous, and I didn’t get her brains, or beauty. 😭

There have been times in the last two decades that I’ve looked in the mirror and haven’t been able to square the face looking back at me with my spirit and my idea of what I look like. This quote from Jane Birkin resonates with me, she said, ” it’s gone…my beauty.” Then goes on…” It’s like you wake up one day and suddenly the outside doesn’t correspond to the inside anymore. I’ve adjusted my thinking a bit since then. The essential thing, I now think, is a good sense of humor.”

and for me a little juviderm, and botox! 😊

    • I even have another earring just like it. 🙂 My mom is my model, too, but Mrs. Peel just rocked it.

I understand what you mean about the outside no longer looking like the inside. 64 sounds much, much older to me than what I feel, that’s for sure!! A sense of humor definitely helps and if you have a smile on your face and love people, they’ll see you as beautiful. Had to look up Juviderm. 🙂

One of the interesting things about meeting people on the internet is that often you don’t know what they actually look like. You only know something about their personality. I imagine all the people I like looking wonderful. 🙂

The dangers of the selfie! Enjoy your day off.

    • We had a wonderful day: church in the morning and a lovely (but hot) bike ride in the afternoon. Just sitting and recovering now, watching a replay of the last stage of the Tour of Utah (cycling.)
