Thursday Doors…little red door

Behind one of my favorite thrift stores is this little shed that I think would make a great playhouse with the addition of a few windows, although perhaps there are some on the sides or in the back that I haven’t seen.  I like the sturdy look, the chimney (what’s inside that requires a chimney?), and of course, the red door.  For some reason, it makes me happy to see this shed, so I hope you enjoy it as well.  Happy Thursday to each of you!

The chimney is a fascinating feature!

  2. Leya says:

Cute – and a real chimney!

  3. It would be fun to look inside wouldn’t it? 🙂

    • I certainly think so, but I’ve never seen the door unlocked or anyone around it. I should ask about it at the thrift store as I imagine the volunteers might be from the church and this is on their property.

  4. I like the way it’s leaning. It makes me smile. I do like a weathered red door!

A red door! How mysterious. Intriguing. It must be hiding delicious secrets. Perhaps a treasure or two – after all it is “behind a thrift shop”. and we thrifters know there is always a treasure awaiting when one goes thrift shopping.

    • Oh, I do love thrift shopping and I get most of my clothes from thrift stores, not that anyone would know. 🙂 I’ve been asked more than a few times where I got a piece I was wearing.

Reckon it’s a smokehouse. No windows, chimney…. Reckon it’s a smokehouse. Like for smoking meat.

Whatever it’s used for, it’s acute find:) The thrift shop might know?

That is pretty. I wonder what they’re storing in there.

Can never go past a red door. Always take a photo. I’m now curious about why this was built and why it needed a chimney. It’s looking like you have some further investigation ahead. We’re a curious bunch.
    Best wishes,
    Rowena

    • Oh, darn. I guess I’ll just have to stop in to the thrift store next week and try to find out about the building, plus take a look around and see what they have! 😁

Janet, you’d better not take me with you. I am a thrift shop junkie, but we also don’t have a good shopping centre nearby so it’s also easier to get something at the thrift shop. My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during the week and it was a fairly upmarket affair. Managed to get my teenaged son a suit for $4.00 and it was even half price. Found a white trench for my daughter. We scrubbed up very well and no shame in being smart about our spending.
        Best wishes,
        Rowena

      • I get most of my clothes from the thrift store and get compliments on them all the time. I’ve got other things to do with our money, better things!
