Thursday doors…Luxeuil 1

One problem about being an avid participant in Thursday Doors is that everywhere I go, I look for and at doors as I did in Luxeuil.  My s-i-l is used to me dragging behind as we walk, constantly stopping to photograph another door.  After a time, though, I realized that I was only taking photos of doors which, although great fun and quite photogenic, were not the only interesting things in Luxeuil.  I corrected that, but still ended up with a plethora of doors to share.  Let’s go.  Allons-y!

The maître d’ of our French door restaurant (Restaurant porte française) this week is Norm Dan “Plat du jour” Frampton Antion.  Drop by. There are plenty of specials, the price is right, and it’s all calorie free.

When we were in Greece last year my husband asked me if I intended to photograph EVERY single door we passed. That comment was made in the first hour on the first day 🙂 All those wonderfully interesting doors were a major distraction!! It’s hard to remember to stop and look around!

  2. Dan Antion says:

How would anyone be expected to walk by these doors without stopping? These are great. You’ve given us other photos, we know you are a well-rounded tourist with many interests. ox checked, move on to more doors 🙂

  3. I loved that red one, especially with that brilliant light on it.

I know exactly what you are talking about. By the way – nice doors!

Love the red door and the scroll work. I totally get what you are saying about being so focused on one aspect. Sometimes I get like that at concerts. Sometimes I focus so much on the lead, I forget about the other people in the band!

  6. The red door is a real eye-catcher. The deep red color in the sunlight is gorgeous.

  7. You’re back!Oh yes I know what you mean, same here:) But the result is nice doors and other captures:) My favorite is the last romantic one.

  8. Beautiful shade of red on that door, Janet. Nice captures.

The second photo of the twin brown, wood doors with the handles in the center are gorgeous. And how well you describe most of us when you write about ‘dragging behind’ others due to photographing the doors along your route. I am aware of the same but feel lucky enough when my friends/family begin pointing out the treasures along the way!

You absolutely HAD to get as many great doors as possible 🙂 I look forward to your other finds as well 🙂 Welcome back!

  11. Beautiful color and light on the first door, but my favorite is the last one … a lot of character. =)

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
