A bright red or blue door attracts lots of attention, but weathered, decrepit doors come in for their share, especially from Thursday Doors aficionados. Here are some from Luxeuil-les-bains for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

They have got a charm of their own!
That they do. 🙂
I love the first one
Thanks, Sherry. I vacillate between that and the second as my favorite.

Character – these doors have it! 🙂
In spades!
The texture and color of these doors stand out in your photos. You did a great job of getting the POV on each of them. I’m sure that it wasn’t easy on narrow streets and wide store fronts.
Ω
The problem with narrow streets is that sometimes you have to stand in them to try to get a decent shot and then there are cars… 🙂
Fast feet and shutter speed are a must.
Ω
Using my phone it doesn’t matter, but it’s worked out so far. 🙂
Love all the doors! Great photos.
I’m glad. Thanks. 🙂
Looks like accordion style window shutters on the butcher shop one, yes?
Whatever they are, they’re lovely. Nice shots 🙂
That butcher shop must have been something in its prime, but it makes for a pretty good shot now. Thanks, Norm.

Doors with character! Doors with history! Nice!
Thanks very much, Marian. Don’t we all get more history and character as we get older. 🙂
I like the first shot, they have character.
Thanks. I’m not sure which I like best, but that pair is quite nice.

It’s easy to imagine them in better days. The bottom set look so sad.
I’m sure they looked wonderful originally, but they looks so interesting this way, too. It’s a mystery of doors, isn’t it? I agree that the bottom set looks sad. I think it’s the broken glass especially that gives that feeling, at least for me.
You’re right, it’s the glass.
Doors of mystery. Doors that hold secrets. Doors that promise you the world if you just open them. Doors with stories waiting to be told. Love your doors!
I’m glad you do, Virginia. I’m really glad I found Thursday Doors as it’s so much fun!
Aged and weathered, maybe a bit creaky around the hinges. Sounds familiar somehow. 😉
Ha! I get that!

Love all your doors – they are like me…
🙂 I know what you mean!
They’ve got character😊
Pat
That they do, Pat. Thanks.

I love the staining and bleaching of the wood in that first image, Janet. The rusted ironwork enhances it even more.
Thanks, Jean.
Decrepit doors always have a lot of texture and leave much room for the imagination.
Exactly! That’s what makes it fun, isn’t it? Have a great weekend.

Storytellers doors
They are. 🙂 Thanks.

Such nice personality in these doors – enjoyed the details
Glad you enjoyed them, Yvette.
I like the yellow Butcher’s shutter doors and the hardware in the upper image. Nice weathered finds Janet.
Thanks, Deborah. There are so many of great doors like this in France.
I love me some decrepit doors and these are fine specimens. The yellow-clad boucherie is where it’s at for me 🙂
I like that one, too, Joey. Happy Saturday (hopefully).

I really like the first one. Great find! 🙂
When visiting my s-i-l and b-i-l in France, I’m constantly stopping for photos…or driving by wishing we could stop. 🙂
