What I like about this shot is that it’s a view from our second story bedroom window at our deck covered with snow a few years ago. The railing at the top surrounding it and its shadow are dramatic, but it’s hard to tell what you’re looking at, making the viewpoint interesting. 😉
You are challenging us with this viewpoint, Janet. At first I thought hayrack, but then I suspected the snow and wondered some more. I would not have worked it out without your explanation.
Glad you got some snow? My initial thought was that this looks like my old wooden dish drainer — you know the kind you have when you’re single and not a mother and you don’t wash 100 dishes a day and it doesn’t get wood rot lol!
It’s artsy, your viewpoint 🙂
Ha, I know the drainer you mean, Joey. It goes with the beautiful wood and metal dining room chairs with the wicker seats and backs…that once we had children, didn’t get used because they might get trashed. 🙂
This is a photo from last year. We haven’t had that much snow this year, just a few days of cosmetic snow. But I’m sure there’s more in the future. Yes, it was an artsy viewpoint, one I really enjoyed.

I was impressed by all that snow!
So far this year, we’ve just had cosmetic snow. Enough to look good but not cause any problems. But I enjoy it when we get more, too.

That’s what I thought made it fun. 😁
A fabulous image on so many levels: negative space, light/dark, graphic lines, high key color, POV… You hit them all with this one, Janet.

Thanks very much, Allan. I like this photo a lot, so I’m pleased you do as well.

I believe my parents had those same chairs when I was growing up — Scandanavian wicker? Like 5s without the top?
They looked a lot like these, Joey. https://scandinaviandesigns.com/collections/dining-chairs/products/bendt-dining-chair?variant=3068473376808
YES! Haha! Ours had leather seats but wicker backs 🙂
Thanks for the explanation Janet. I’d have been completely baffled without it — being a snow novice and all.
I think it was a bit baffling for everyone, which was part of the fun of having it for “Viewpoint”, as it was an unusual one. 🙂
Absolutely 😀
A very interesting shot – perspective, shadow and monochrome. Dizzying effect, too.
Nice eye.

Thanks, Randy, and happy Thanksgiving.
janet
you, too.
Thanks.
