Growing up, we had a basement to our old house that was more like a cold cellar. It was late fall and my mother had a bag of wheat in the basement that somehow was spilled and the wheat kernels started to sprout on the damp floor. Talk about creepy! My sister and I (we were the youngest of the brood) refused to go into the basement 🙂
Thanks for nudging that memory out of the archives. It made me smile 🙂
Was it once a cute little furry creature that got given water after midnight when an old man distinctly told you not to give it water after midnight no matter how much it begged?
😀
First glimpse of first image, I join others in guessing, “Crab leg…” then to the middle of that same image it looked almost like an animal’s foot, but I knew it wasn’t… I next thought, ‘Cactus…’ but never would have guessed potato sprout!
You did well!!!!!
Potatoes sprouting?
You’re right, Su. 🙂 My husband says it looks like some sort of alien life form.
He’s right! 🙂
He often is, but don’t tell him. 🙂
😂😂
I’ll hedge my bets, some sort of plant???
A potato is a plant, right? This one is sprouting.
janet
Sure is
It’s creepy as hell, but I would have said potato root too.
And you’d be right. My husband said it looked like some sort of alien creature and I have to agree.

My first reaction was to be hungry for crab legs , but I’m going with some plant based thing as well.
Crab legs sound wonderful, but maybe not if they look like these potato sprouts. 🙂 You’ve made me hungry, though.
Sorry. If you can’t find crab legs, maybe potato soup will do, or some fries.
I’m making chicken stock now, Dan, so perhaps that will do. 🙂 It certainly smells wonderful.
I do love that smell. Maybe…
Old potato with new life?
Spot on!

Potato
Exactly, Sherry. Happy Monday.

Plant of some kind. But I did think of crab legs for a second.
Please stop with the crab legs! I love them, but haven’t had them in ages. This is a humble potato trying to propagate its species. 🙂
Cactus ready to bloom.
Although my Christmas cactus (better late then never) is getting ready to bloom, this is a potato trying for immortality. 🙂 Happy Monday, Sally.

Potato from the back of the drawer?
Yup, potato. 🙂

How did you ever guess??? 🙂
Be happy–tomorrow is another language abuse post!!

Can’t wait!
🙂
Ha Ha… in too late to share my guess of potato sprouts… and be believable. Fun to see the thoughts and humor on this one.
Thanks for chiming in Jane. It’s never too late, though. 🙂
great shots.
🙂 Thanks, Randy, and happy 2019!

Ha! This one was fun. It was so bizarre looking that I had to share. 😉
