I know it can be so hard on trees and plants and make driving or even walking dangerous, but yes, it can be beautiful as well. Fortunately, yesterday wasn’t bad by the time I went out. It remains to be seen what today will be like.
It was obviously below freezing, but only by a few degrees. The wind was what was bad. This morning the sun’s out and everything is sparkling and looking stunning!
Very cool – I saw quite a bit this outside my window;). Its been one h*ll of ride so far this season and I am fortunate I live in the area where I work so my commute is short – 1/3 mile. I try to see the beauty in it all and keep telling myself that all of this leads to what will be coming down the pike – and in the meantime photograph it and maybe write about it:). Oh – and laugh!!!!
That’s the best way, I think. It’s definitely beautiful and if you’re careful, not too much of a problem. A short commute (I have one, too), is a blessing, that’s for sure! I could do without the famous Chicago wind, though! This morning the sun it out and it’s stunning, sparkling everywhere. I don’t think I can even capture that. Tomorrow I don’t work, so I’ll be heading for the park and hopefully it will still look like this.
I was so sad to wake this morning to temperatures already well above freezing, which meant no walk in an iced park. Since it likely meant slop, I’ll be walking in the gym tomorrow. 🙂
How can something so treacherous also be so beautiful? Great photo!

Not nice weather but great photo.
Thanks, Judy. At least there was/is beauty rather than just treacherous weather. 😊
Wonderful image!
Thanks, Cheryl. Maybe one most people would rather just and not experience, but it was a gorgeous morning.

Beautifully captured! Must have been very cold!

I hope you are enjoying your day off:)
Frozen in time, and beautiful. Spring thaw won’t be as kind to it I fear.
The temperature is going up quite a lot tomorrow, Deborah, so it will be gone by soon. But it’s still beautiful today. 🙂

Enjoy the warmer temperature! It’s cold, wet, and windy here for the next few days.
Beautiful. We saw a lot of this today.
So beautiful, Janet – a gem!
A beautiful shot Janet. I don’t envy you the cold, but I was grad to read that the sun is out.
Wow! That is a great picture.
Looks like a painting. Great composition.
Interesting picture.
Thanks, Ronald. The ice is hard on the plants but certainly beautiful.

Beauty.

Bummer. Yeah, slush is danger, get thee to the gym! 🙂
That’s gorgeous! It’s like a little show case.
Thanks. I’m happy you liked it. It was a beautiful day!
