Wow.x
Thanks. 😊

Oh, fantastic!
Thanks, Sue. I watched for a long time through my telephoto, taking shots periodically. I managed to get this one at just the right moment.

Well done!
Excellent capture. He looks so graceful in flight.
They’re amazingly graceful in the water as well.

That’s one of those once in a lifetime shots, Janet. Impressive. 🙂
Thankfully I had my camera with the telephoto that day and not just my phone. He was on the other side of the small lake a few blocks from our house and I sat there for some time watching and taking photos.

Wonderful capture Janet. They are so majestic but I’ll admit they make me think of pterodactyls when they squalk
🙂 The ones I’ve seen are usually just silent, but I admit that would make me laugh a bit and agree with you.
I cannot wait for the Herons to return – and Egrets and Cormorants. We have a rather large Cormorant population that returns to our pond every spring. They are noisy little boogers but amazing creatures.
I agree!! I love them all, but the cormorants are the most amazing. They can stay underwater so long!
I know! They also love dead trees – on land or tree trunks floating in the water. and when the group extends their wings out to the side (all at once) they look like they could be a subject pulled from an Edgar Allen Poe piece…..
Nice capture…
Thanks, Sally. 🙂
You caught that very well Janet. We can see the movement in the wings, but his eye is nicely lit and focused. Excellent!
Many thanks, Debbie. I was very happy to have captured him. 🙂
Talk about the “decisive moment.” You captured it!
It was one of those photos that made me very happy when I saw what I’d gotten. 🙂
Magical. Don’t you love it when that kind of thing happens?
That I do! When I look through the photos and see some like this, it brings a smile to my face. 🙂

Lovely shot Janet. We’re on the same page again — subject-wise for this post.
Yes, we are, and I liked yours as well.

We have liftoff! Great picture, Janet!
Thanks very much!
Beautiful. Very graceful.
Thanks, Lignum. It was fun watching him for so long.
Wonderful – feels so free – nice capture
Thanks, Yvette.

You captured a graceful takeoff pose, Janet.
Thanks, Jane. I’m glad you like it.
