Doors tend to come with buildings and some buildings are a bit more prepossessing than others. Here are three that I came across in Colmar, France. Whether formally elegant or elegantly informal, all three are attractive. Croissants and a café, anyone? Afterwards we can visit other doors via Norm’s portal in Montreal. Happy Thursday!

Great doors!
Thanks, Sheree. I’m glad you like them. Happy Thursday.

Gorgeous and definitely not US architecture.
Maybe more like some of the architecture in some of the older cities on the East Coast, but I know what you mean. I guess that’s part of what makes it interesting.

I love the last one – the blue gate and shutters combined with the little balcony dressed in greenery and parasol.
That’s the one that grabs me, too, Joanne. It’s less formal and more inviting. And it has blue!! 🙂

I agree about the blue! For some reason, blue doesn’t look as good here. I suspect our weather doesn’t compliment the colour so much.
I love that first building, what a great find, Janet. France has amazing old architecture.
That it does, Jean. 🙂
I love arches, especially the arched windows. As I scrolled to the bottom photo, I thought “no arches here” but then I saw the gate. Very nice collection, Janet.
Yeah, that gate’s pretty nice, especially with the blue shutters. 🙂 Always good to have a hard time choosing.
I love that particular shade of blue.
I do too. 😁
Thanks, Janet! i’d quite like to sit on that balcony 🙂 🙂
I know. It’s pretty nice!
Impressive collection, my doors are French too this week: https://gwhphotos.wordpress.com/2019/03/07/thursday-doors-march-7-2019/
Glad you liked these. I’ll be visiting yours soon.

Another vote for the blue here. The shutters painted to match the gate and the balcony railing is a really nice attention to detail. Inviting, informal, yet very classy looking.
Precisely why I like it, too, Norm. 🙂

I liked your first door; perhaps it was the ornate arch framing the door.
There’s something about an arch…
Great trio! That turquoise gate makes me smile! 🙂
It did me, too, Joey. 😁
