A few days ago on my walk, I spotted this tree trying to be invisible and doing rather well. I zoomed in a bit closer and found that one fungus amongus wasn’t quite like the others. But each had a delicate bit of frost, at least until the sun crept up higher.

How fabulous. Wishing you a lovely weekend Janet.
Thanks, Su, and you as well.
Beautiful photos of a fungi carpet.
They’re beautiful, aren’t they, especially with the frost and a bit of sunshine.

It’s returning to the earth and showing us beauty on the way. 🙂
Very true. 🙂

I love the different shapes of it!
I know, Aletta, they’re so interesting.

Absolutely
These things are amazing to see up close. Great photo, Janet!
Thanks, Dan. They’re really interesting seen up close and I liked finding that one white one amongst all the look-alikes.
They are beautiful, Janet. In fact I don’t think I have ever seen a white one!
Usually they all look like the grey ones, so the white one really stood out. Not sure if it’s a different sort or what, but it makes a nice contrast.
Such a fascinating sight, Janet.
Glad you enjoyed it, Sylvia.
Wow! I’ve never seen so much fungus in one place. This is incredible, and what a great find. You photographed it well, Janet, giving us the full picture, and the details with that different one, and the frost.
Thanks. 🙂 I found it quite fascinating to have so much fungus just on that log and I liked the way it all blended in with the leaves that surrounded the log.
So many in one place! Beautifully captured, Janet!
That tree is a fungi repository, isn’t it? 🙂
