This day is definitely a day of memories for me.
Although my father-in-law certainly didn’t die in combat, he was on Omaha Beach on D-day and the only one on his boat to make it to shore alive. He was also in the Pacific. So I appreciate the service of those who died and those who lived.
“Only one on his boat to make it to shore alive.” Wow – now, there’s a story, and a load to carry.
