Sorry about the quality of the video. I took it in the evening with the sun behind the shot and through the living room window. But I like it anyway and I hope you do, too.

They are so pretty and so much fun to watch.

  3. Be still my beating heart. That monarch looks happy, which is how I feel watching it. Thanks.

  4. A Monarch! They’re gorgeous. I need more butterfly-attracting flowers!

    • I was so happy to find we had this butterfly bush. I’d never even heard of one before. I also let some milkweed grow to attract butterflies. I do love seeing them!

      • I had Lantana in San Jose which is a lot like Milkweed, but never got Monarchs. Just Frittillary’s and Skippers. Here in NV I’ve noticed in my neighborhood more Swallowtails so I need to figure out what bush/flower is attracting those too. I don’t think it’s my Day Lily’s or Daisy’s.

I love seeing them too along with bees. It means we’re doing something right! ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. I loved it! I find watching a Monarch do about anything is fascinating, and this was definitely an up close and personal view. Perfect!!

    • Glad you enjoyed it, Judy. I get such joy from watching these guys as well as the occasional hummingbird, bees, or hummingbird moths that the bush attracts.

What’s not to like about watching a butterfly? ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. That’s not just a thing of beauty, but of pure magic. The way that it moves so gracefully, so deliberate and swift… Amazing that you were able to capture it!

That’s cool. So pretty and fun to see up close.
