Downtown Naperville is a happening place at night, not the sort of spot you’d expect to be going to the dogs. But it is, as you’ve seen before. This night my husband and I took a walk, fortified by some amazing gelato. We didn’t share with any of these guys, though.
A dog of a different color, lots of different colors.

Hmmm, maybe a watch dog? π I half expected this one to take off with a robotic lurch.

Dogs weren’t the only critters out that night. The Hanna Andersson window display delighted me, giving me not only a good laugh but a lot of wonderful memories of reading Dr. Seuss’ books to our girls. The Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, and Thing 2, imps all!

Here’s a patriotic fellow.

Not everything was going to the dogs, though. That would have been a cat-tastrophe! How does the saying go? “Cats rule, dogs drool?” I’m sure they agree.

At night, the fountain I call the dandelion fountain takes on a very different aspect.

And in front of the library, this dapper dog keeps an eye on downtown happenings. Looks as if he’s ready for a night on the town.

Green Eggs and Ham!
Dr. Seuss is so much fun, whether there are stars upon thars or not. π
Loving βrobo-dogβ
Don’t you feel as if he could come alive in various parts and then reassemble later? π
Absolutely!
Terminator dog. π
Thank you for showing these. I love them, and I’m always in awe of the artists who can draw such intricate designs on animals. What a fun event. And, of course, I enjoy your play on words which you do so well. π
These dogs and the book benches have been my two favorite public art displays. I guess this will be the last one, as we’ll be gone when they put out next summer’s. But it’s been grand. I’m amazed at the artistry as well.

What a fun place! Love the dressed up dog the best.
Heβs a dapper dog. π
These dogs can’t help but bring a smile to my face. Gelato – yum.
I love the dogs, too, and the gelato, although not inexpensive, was very good! π
They have such intelligent expressions! π π Well, maybe not the Trump dog! Thanks for sharing, Janet.
I didn’t see a Trump dog, but if there were one, he’s probably rich enough not to care. π Glad you enjoyed them, Jo.
The fella in the red and white seemed like a Trump to me. π¦
Doesn’t have the right hair.
π
Fun and entertaining walk and post! You made me smile with all the dogs.
I do love to make people smile, Deborah.
do dogs have humopomorphism when they see a human statue ?
You’ll have to ask one the next time we’re downtown. π
I like the way you wrote the transitions throughout the post –

The fountain is quite something, I think, and it looks great during the day, too.
