Thursday doors…seeing red

Red doors are certainly eye-catching and these three Philadelphia beauties caught not only my eye but my phone’s camera on a visit earlier this year. I present them now for your enjoyment on this September Thursday. I do wonder how it got to be September already when I’m pretty sure only 6 or 7 months have gone by this year.

This first one has a bonus door on the side, although not red. Sort of a reddish-brown, though.

These two are mirror images, so does that make them fraternal or identical twins? Either way, you might say they’re in the pink.

This set is a bit more stately and look, they threw some white for contrast. Works for me!

Thursday Doors is the brain child of Norm up North and we all a-door him for it. Merci beaucoup, Norm!

  1. I have a red door. I love red doors. These three are beauties! The hardware associated with the first door could be a post all by itself – handsome. 🙂

    • Handsome, indeed, Judy. 🙂 Our rental house has a boring white door with nothing to recommend it. If we were staying longer, I’d see if the landlord would let me paint it a color, but not bothering now.

  2. Joanne Sisco says:

    Love them!

There is a lot to love in the first photo – in particular that mailbox!

  3. Sheree says:

There’s something joyous about red doors.

  4. Ally Bean says:

Ooh-la-la! Those are some bright doors.

  5. Marian Allen says:

Love that first one the mostest, even though the others are archier.

  6. Junieper2 says:

Haha, I would call it tomato red:) The first door looks European, but not your 2nd and 3rd – on this side of the pond, or? They’re all 3 beautiful!

  7. Norm 2.0 says:

Yes indeed, these are awesome. However, in the first shot on the left of the door I’m trying figure out what the long metal rod with the handle at the bottom is supposed to be. Any ideas?
I too have no idea how the calendar suddenly turned to September 😉

  8. Dan Antion says:

I like red doors, and I like arched doors and I like transom windows. It is so hard to choose today – I like them all. I think the dentil molding under the transom window might throw the vote in its direction.

  9. All three are beautiful Janet!

  10. Prior... says:

that first one has the bonus door – and more – with the knocker and the pull thing and then the modern light fixture –
and I like how the second two doors have the numbers added –
    nice trio of red doors

  11. Great finds, Janet! Red doors are always eye-catching!
