Despite the severe lack of moisture, there were still flowers in our part of France. Centaurea jacea or brown (where’s the brown???) knapweed (not a very attractive name) looks like a Dr. Seuss flower to me. 🙂

German camomile was everywhere.

One plant that thrived without much rain was the rose bush next to my s-i-l’s house. Once the deluge came, the roses didn’t last long, though.

Our plants are still flowering on Cote d’Azur but once the daytime temperatures drop below 20C, they’ll start to die off.
We still have somewhere in the Chicago area, but they’re going fast.

Oh, these are lovely. Especially that Dr. Seuss’s flower 🙂
Yes, I really like that one. It was just out in one of the fields where we walked and such an unusual look, like something in a Dr. Seuss book.
Love the color of the Dr. Seuss flower and the way you took the picture was masterful.
Many thanks, Janet. 🙂
Love your description of the knapweed Janet — spot-on.
