I’m back from a week in Arizona of family time and looking at rental houses and areas (too early to rent yet but we need to get started), then a week of relaxation and family fun in Pasadena. I hope you enjoyed the two weeks of photos from “my” park, McDowell Forest Preserve in Naperville, Illinois. I do most of my walking in the park when I’m at home, but in Pasadena, I walked a lot back and forth between our daughter’s condo and Old Town Pasadena where I saw this power box a number of times. You get several doors for the price of one box.

for Thursday Doors
These are pretty doors. What are they for?
Access to the electrical box. I love that these are being decorated in so many cities now.

Oh yes, that is true. I found some here in Melbourne too. Turning an ugly thing to a work of art.
So colourful!!
I know. I love it.

😊
Talented artist. 🙂 No wonder Arizona is calling to you – multiple generations of loved ones.
I always have time for street art doors – two pleasures in one! – such a nice way to brighten up utility boxes.
Brilliant. Best one I’ve seen yet, Janet.
Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did, Jean. 🙂
pretty cool!
I’m loving seeing so many of these boxes being used as displays for art. Livens things up a lot.

Love it. They have started painting our power boxes too. Much more fun to look at.
I agree!
Very imaginative!
With so many boxes like this out there, there’s an enormous amount of art that can be displayed.

Love this cheerful style of painting – perfect for street painting:) True, the weather is still nice, but to be in LA area right now with 6 fires burning, is less pleasant.
I saw smoke hanging over the city when I arrived, but we only noticed it once while I was there, for which I’m thankful. I’m also thankful for the firefighters and that so far, so few houses and lives have been lost.
Yes I agree, smoke hanging over a city is a nasty sight! Am pleasantly surprised this time around the firefighters had more success:)
Me, too!
These are fun, Janet. I enjoyed the McDowell series very much.
Glad you enjoyed the doors, Dan, and thanks for the feedback on the McDowell series. It’s close to my heart. 😉
Hah! This is cute. I love it when someone takes something mundane and makes it extroidinary. Thanks for sharing.
I like that, too. There are getting to be more and more of these boxes and I’m enjoying them greatly.

I love this form of street art — and this box is a stunner!
I’m with you, Su.
So amazing, Janet. Such wonderful artistic talent.
I love this relatively new type of art. It really improves the scenery in a city.
Wow!! What great colors. Such a nice find.
Pat
Thanks, Pat. Sounds as though you like it as much as I do. 😉
janet
I do, lol.
That is so cool. I love how they take something that is a bit of an urban eyesore and turn it into something beautiful.
I agree, Norm.
Love it! I hear Pasadena is a wonderful city. It looks like it!
It is. They live about a mile and a half from old Pasadena so I could easily walk there every day.
Love it! 🙂 🙂
So many of these great doors now. It really livens up the city landscape. I believe you shared a large number of these not long ago.
I love that idea, decorating the power boxes! Very colorful and happy. =)
I’d love to see every box decorated!
janet
Great idea to cover this box with art… and pretty good art….
I think so, too, Yvette. There were other decorated boxes as well.
😊
It’s a great way to liven up a cement city. We have a lot of painted boxes in Toronto!
It’s a trend I love, Resa.
We don’t ave this where I live, but I’d love to have that here. I first got to know the phenomenon from this picture: https://www.facebook.com/artbypan/photos/a.433443256805594/885740024909246/?type=3&theater
