I don’t usually take my camera with me when I’m walking, but every so often, I take a photo walk and then hope I see lots of good things. The iPhone has a great camera, but not like a Nikon with a telephoto. 🙂
Nice trio and the faces are so clea and beautiful – at first from the reader I thought you had Santa’s reindeer off duty waiting for the big delivery night (kidding)
Perhaps they were and were on vacation in Naperville. 🙂 I was walking a back trail in the park that day and happened to have my Nikon with my telephoto lens with me. I stood quietly for some time watching them.
There were lots of deer in the part of Cleveland (South Euclid) where we used to live and they came into our yard to munch on things. One evening I woke to find that all my day lilies had become delicacies overnight. Our garage had a flat roof and access from the house, so I planted lots of pots of lettuce, herbs, and the like there where the most enterprising critters couldn’t reach!
Yes, I’ll miss these encounters, especially as I’m not likely to find a place like this to walk quite near where we rent. I’ll have to make more of an effort to go for a hike. But there will be different animals there.
That’s a sweet trio! Now I’m going to have that little ditty running in my head! 😀
Just reading your reply to Judy about having other wildlife where you’re moving…it’s true! I’m finding that anyway. I wonder if the Roadrunner is going to be where you’re moving? That would be awesome!
I think there might be roadrunners there. It will be interesting to see what animals I find when I’m out of the city hiking, rather than walking around green spaces. Different thing altogether.
It’s fun in a way – now that I’ve adjusted – to loading the email notifications on Gmail, which allows me to scroll thru at least 100, and then of course my curiosity is often frustrated to have to wait to see the images later. Usually it’s fun to see if what was described was what I imagined! Feliz Navidad!
Now, Deer, I do get to see closer up, but never with my camera ready.

Good to have your lens…. ❤️
Always! I’d carry it all the time if I could.
I feel my blueberry bushes quaking in their roots. 🙂 You’re certainly going to miss some of your wildlife encounters when you move. 🙂

SO beautiful! 🙂 🙂 Ray, a drop of golden sun…
🙂
How beautiful they are and their faces are so serene. 😍
They were serenely deciding whether to hightail it (literally) away from me or to relax enough to eat. 🙂
😅
Perfect. Except for that song being stuck in my head.
Her, hee, hee! 😁
Stunning… so is the next one! Great captures, Janet!!!
Happy Holidays!
Thanks, Resa, and Merry Christmas. 🎄
Definitely some golden sun here Janet. Lovely image.
Thanks, Su. It was fun spotting these three.
So beautiful and peaceful; I read this off line with zero images, and expected the ‘I got lucky’ to show another deer!
🙂 You never know what to expect, right, Lisa? Glad you enjoyed them both.

And to you as well!
