Monday non-walk and tales of travel

For many weeks, I’ve been doing a morning walk with Jo, but she’s taking a break and we’re getting ready to move, so we’re not having an official walk. Our city has a shelter-in-place order, but we’re still allowed to walk outside, but I don’t have time right now AND we’re getting the last snow we’re likely to see for a long time, considering we’re moving from the Midwest to Arizona. 🙂

But a few days ago I was at church, delivering some donations and I spotted these harbingers of spring. In our yard, the daffodils and tulips are up, but not flowering yet, so I especially rejoiced in these. I was hoping to get one last walk in the park, but it’s not to be. So enjoy these!!!

Tonight (Sunday) I’m making meatloaf. Of course, I packed the sheet pan (but thankfully in a place where I could easily get it out again), thought I’d packed the can of tomato sauce (I had, but there was another one left in the pantry), etc. These are the crazy things that happen when you pack. I have to remember to leave out a few things to use when we move into our new home, because we could be there for one to six days with nothing but what we take. It all depends when the company delivers our things.

We’d planned to stay with my parents but they’re 91 and90 and we don’t want to take a chance of sharing germs with them…of any sort. So we’ll be in a beautiful house with two inflatable beds that my brother was kind enough to pick up for us and a table with six chairs that I bought there before coming home. Life is an adventure. 🙂

Starting Tuesday we’ll have a day with the movers, followed by a day or so of cleaning, then three days of driving, so we’ll see what happens here. I plan to post, but time for much else will be short. But don’t worry. I’ll be back with a whole new look based on a very different climate. In the meantime, be safe, be well, be hopeful. Enjoy time with family and time to relax and rediscover joys such as board games and books. Thanks goodness for Kindle and other ways to read virtually!! Otherwise you might see me disappear in a puff of smoke, as all my books are packed.

Happy Monday!

So exciting to move..and make a new place home. And you are so lucky to still have both parents…

I spent my childhood moving house (my mother must have Romany blood!), so I remember all too well the scrambling around looking for things that have been packed, and the camping out on arrival. Good luck, stay well and enjoy the adventure.

  3. Good luck on the move, and I bet you won’t ever forget this one. Stay safe. 🙂

Stay safe, Janet. Enjoy the drive to AZ.

    • Thanks, Amy. The drive will actually be a joy because I won’t really have anything to do except just drive, listen to music, and look around. And then of course clean everything at whatever hotel we stay at. LOL.

Tender mercies as you move and travel to your new life. Stay safe, be well.

Yes, it’s not about looking back at the past year, but rather over the years to see just how we’ve really changed. There’s still a lot of life to live, and I hope you continue to enjoy the journey!Pegasus uçak bileti
