We left Albuquerque on a cloudy, chilly morning but with a sky filled with clouds of all sorts.

How to show motion in a photo: take a shot out the side window while doing 80 mph. Do it very carefully and delete all unusable photos.

Next we ran into snow. It wasn’t accumulating, but there was enough that it was almost like a light fog.
Nothing like a good train shot. Couldn’t even begin to have gotten the entire train in (especially from the van window.)

More snow when we got to Flagstaff and started south towards Phoenix. Then clouds only, some rain, more clouds and finally, sunshine.

Phoenix traffic, despite all the people staying at home, is terrible. A lot like Chicago in fact. But eventually we made it to our new house (which has yet to become a home, but is off to a good start. ๐ We unloaded the car and van, took a short walk, did some grocery shopping, had a more or less proper dinner, inflated and made the inflatable beds, which will see us through the two night before all our things arrive on Sunday morning and will then be put away for use if we have lots of guests. I think we’ll both sleep well tonight! We’ve come a long way, in all ways, since Wednesday morning.

Hope you settle in well!
, Sue. It will happen but it will be a process.
Of course
So glad you had a good rest, that is a long driving. Thank you, Janet for sharing the journey.
Thanks for coming along, Amy. I surprised there was room in the van. ๐
Your new normal photo is beautiful. I cannot imagine what it’d be like to see that all the time, but I’m thinking it’s going to be wonderful for you. I’m glad you made it to your new house, will look forward to the your photos of how you’re making it your home.
I look forward to sharing them, Ally. Thanks for making the trip with me.
How exciting. Congrats on the new home and thanks for sharing the drive!
It IS exciting and a bit overwhelming for a short time, too. Thanks for traveling with us!
Welcome home, Janet. May you spend many wonderfully happy and healthy days here.
Many thanks, Drake. ๐
That’s a pretty house. I hope you make it home fairly quickly. Congrats on getting there safe and sound and in good spirit.
Thanks, Dan. I guess if weโre supposed to stay around home most of the time, getting it in order will be what we do. ๐
Gorgeous photos! I look forward to many new doors … er, adventures.
Most of my doors come from my archives, so there will still be doors. Not sure there will be many interesting/unusual doors in this neighborhood, but we’ll see.
You have doors in your new house, yes? ๐
Of course, but they’re not really exceptional.
YAY!!!! Welcome to new home! Have fun guys, and you were smart to pull your move ahead. Well done!
Thanks. It made things a bit more hectic in the short run, but in the long run it was a good decision.
Smart!
Welcome to Arizona! ๐
Thanks very much, Lisa. Although I’ve visited my parents here regularly for many years, it’s quite different to live here as opposed to the Midwest where I’ve lived most of my life.
