Blooming in our backyard

These flowers welcomed us to our new home. I mentioned their beauty to the owner who replied, amazed, that she had been at the house just a few days earlier and there were no flowers. Several are already beginning to wilt, but oh, are they glorious!!

Stunning! Seeing them growing outdoors brings to mind César Manrique and his Cactus Garden in Lanzarote. How wonderful that they bloomed to welcome you .

When I lived in west Texas I was always amazed that something so invasive and otherwise unpleasant produced such beautiful flowers. There is beauty in everything if you just look for it.

    🙂 Dear Janet,
they knew you were coming and waited for you before they started to bloom.
    Beautiful!
All the best to you in your new home!
Stay healthy and have a HAPPY Sunday!
    Big hug, Claudia xo 🙂

    • And wasn’t that thoughtful of them? 🙂 Thanks for the good wishes. You stay healthy too and have a marvelous rest of Sunday and upcoming week. Now that we’ve moved west, we’re even farther from you in time, 9 hours now. 😦

  9. thy are gorgeous! thank you for sharing their beauty Janet! and wishing you the best in your new home – congratulations!

    • Thanks, Joan. I must ask. Have you ever seen “Romancing the Stone?” Every time I see your name I think of that movie. 🙂

      • LOL – yes, I know the movie and someone told me that once too. I had forgotten all about that, thanks for the reminder… Now if I was THAT Joan Wilder LOL – nah, I don’t like spiders either… 🙂 Stay well my friend!

  10. your packing, moving, driving, etc has kept you very busy, but oh what a comfort to be ‘home’ and embraced by a beauty like this! so glad you’re now in one place with lots to keep you occupied while the rest of the world is going a bit more than norm crazy! thinking of you often…

    • Oh, thanks so much, Lisa! I’m thankful we got our move date in so much earlier (almost 3 weeks) so that we don’t have to worry about any tighter travel restrictions that might come down. We’re in a beautiful rental house in a lovely neighborhood, in a different but beautiful climate, so all is more than good. Our landlady is so nice and dropped a bag of oranges from their trees on our front porch yesterday. 🙂

I hope all’s well with you and that you stay healthy. ❤
