It was. The dried chickpeas (very good!) are from Costco and the Marcona almonds from Aldi. Besides my park, the thing I most regret not having is an Aldi. They’re supposedly starting up here this year, but I’m afraid the C-19 will delay them considerably.
Looks yummy! It’s sunny here today, but anytime now there’ll be golfers showing up to play and get some air and exercise so no sitting on the patio for me for very long else I risk getting hit with an errant golf ball. Unfortunately, there are a lot of bad shot golfers and I’ve got a collection of golf balls to prove that. 🏌️♂️
The nuts look really yummy. I love almost all nuts. Pinyon and Pecan are my least favorite of all the nuts I’ve tried.
Ha, I know the bad golfer thong to be true. My parents live next to a golf course and have had two windows broken. One man owned up and paid for a new one. The other evidently just walked away.
I make granola that has almonds, cashews, pecans, and sunflower seeds with the oats, but this time I used walnuts as I was out of sunflower seeds (or could find them) and I’m not going to Trader Joe’s until Monday. Still tastes good.
When we bought the house and knew we were going to rent it out for a year and a bit we had safety screen installed to prevent broken windows from errant golf balls. I didn’t want the liability or possible damage to the renters or their stuff should a ball get inside. They knew the risk to the stuff outside. It was well worth every penny. So far knock on wood no broken windows since we’ve owned the house.
My neighbors have had broken windows, but not since we’ve lived here.
Your granola sounds yummy! I pick up my grocery order this evening. There’s stuff I didn’t anticipate needing not on the list so, I’m going to have to make a quick trip inside next week too. I have my mask and disposable gloves ready.
Save the gloves for something else. I was just reading an article about how they don’t recommend that you use gloves in the store. First of all, if you wipe off the handle of the cart, that will protect you from germs on the cart. Secondly, they’re saying don’t worry about germs on surfaces of any food items. Third, if you don’t take the gloves off properly and is soon as you get out of the store, you can spread any germs that way. Fourth if you touch your face with the gloves it’s the same as touching it with your hands.
They recommend wiping the handle of the cart, being careful about using the card reader or touching the surface is at the self check out, which they recommend over using a checker, and then using hand sanitizer when you get in the car. Wash your hands after you handle everything at home and clean off surfaces that items were sitting on. But again they say don’t worry about getting germs from the food and probably not from packaging either.
No sitting on the patio here today – it’s in the 30’s. 🙂
Ah, well, in summer I might be wishing I were you. 😉
That looks good.
