Shelter-in place, self-isolation, and quarantine are all for the body, but mind is free to roam the world, so tighten your seatbelts and put your tray tables in their upright and locked positions. We’re on our way to the Franche-Comté. See that? I made a little rhyme.

As all Thursday Doors peeps know, gates count as doors and that’s the way I’m going today. Enjoy.

Our leader de jour is Norm, way up in French Canadian Montreal. Norm, thanks for helping us get oot and aboot, eh? Since there’s no hockey, we’ve got to have something.

  2. Now , that’s an idea!

  3. The top gate is my favorite this week, because of the beautiful flower basket!

  4. Norm 2.0 says:

I’m kinda partial to the last one. Looks like a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy a cup of tea 🙂

  5. Dan Antion says:

I do like gates. I normally like metal ones better, but the weathered white picket gate is beautiful.

  6. lolaWi says:

lovely images, Janet, particularly the second one! so charming. thanks! 🙂

  7. Ally Bean says:

Gates are doors. I’m sure of it. I like the last photo in particular.

  8. DrJunieper says:

How quaint, and many of them typically Western European. Great share, Janet:)

  9. restlessjo says:

I do like that opening shot. It promises much 🙂 🙂

  10. I like how the the pink shows through in the gate in the first photo, once painted pink?

That last gate and courtyard are wonderful.

I love the gates and gateways! Thanks for the virtual trip. Lots of legroom on this imaginary plane. But my seatmate is William Shatner, and he keeps babbling about something on the wing. Should I be worried?

  14. I really like the first one, the pink beside it, and the flowers that match. Nice gates!

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
