π Or “Hunt for Red October” although that’s more recent. Although not a sub movie, “Gun of Navarone” is a great one and we have it on DVD. Hmmmm. Maybe tonight or soon.
I saw “Guns of Navarone” a few weeks ago. “Hunt for Red October” is always a good watch. Of course, you could also watch the Original Series Star Trek episode “Balance of Terror” – which is based on “The Enemy Below” – I think I’m good for a few nights.
We’ve been watching “Hinterland” on Netflix. It’s a Welsh series (three seasons) that was filmed in both Welsh and English. Thankfully ours is in English! π We only have two episodes left (only 13 in total for the show, I believe) and we’ve also started re-watching “Foyle’s War”, one of the best things ever done about WWII and just in general. We have all the seasons on DVD. We got CBS All Access for “God Friended Me” (cancelled), the “NCIS’s” (run out of episodes, I think, and no filming now) and “Blue Bloods” (same problem.)
Thanks, Judy. I’m trying not to lose the second. Right now the photo pool has been a bit more limited than I’d like as I’m pretty much in the same area for photos. But I have literally thousands of photos in files (such as this one) and I’m start to get a quantity from our new location.
A great deal of luck involved, Deborah, as there is to some degree in these cases. I’m pretty sure I was just trying to get it as it landed, but came away with sometime even better. π
I was a little ways away because I was using my telephoto. π I know, not what is normally used, but when I walked in the park, I usually just took my Nikon with the telephoto and my phone. I needed the telephoto for deer and other interesting wildlife and if I stand about 6′ or so away (photographically distancing?), the telephoto works as a macro. π
Perfect … I haven’t been using my Nikon as much because it’s heavy. Plus walking around my neighborhood there’s always the same things to photograph. No one has planted any Spring flowers. It’s like everyone is waiting for something but don’t know what. I like going to the park to photograph new things. A new zen garden opened up about 15 minutes from where I live but has been closed since the virus hit. I hope it opens soon and we will be allowed to go to it. I never got to see it. You have to stay hopeful. Be well … ππ
The Zen garden sounds cool, Issy. I haven’t taken my Nikon out since we moved. The phone is so easy to use and takes very good photos, so I’m usually just using that, although sometimes I miss a great shot because I don’t have the camera. Everything changes so quickly here, a bit like wildflowers when we were back in Illinois.
Yes, I’m excited about the Zen garden. It has listed a butterfly area and a waterfall for meditating. My first outing when we can go out safely again. I use my phone more and more. I was a snob at first. I thought, ‘That’s not phorotgraphy.’ Now, convenience has won over technique. Sometimes, my phone takes better shots … or … it might be me. LOL Have a GREAT Thursday ….ππ
Fabulous photo, Janet.
Thanks very much, Tish.
Oh my. National Geographic worthy!
β€ Wouldn't that be nice?! Thanks, Ruth.
janet
Yes, it would.
Amazing photo, so sharp for something in full flight mode
Thanks, Pauline. Glad I had my Nikon that day and not just my phone.
Phones are a good back stop, but I still prefer my camera
Yes, but a phone can easily come along everywhere and the cameras are quite good now.
Yes donβt go anywhere these days without the phone. My problem is holding the phone steady
βWhat box has the silverware?β
π Or my favorite from the old war movies, “Dive, dive, dive” with the accompanying klaxon sound.
Hahaha – Sounds like an night to watch “Run Silent – Run Deep”

This reminded me of two things – you still have your beautiful photos and you haven’t lost your sense of humor. π

This is lovely! I love how you got the bee in flight!

Great macro photograph, Janet. I hope you were at a distance.
It looks like it’s busy but I’d be nervous. Well done …

That sounds like a delightful places, especially with the butterflies. I’m sure I’ll see some photos of it eventually. π

awesome shot! π
Many thanks and happy midweek. π
Such a terrific image, Janet!
Thanks very much! Praise from the praiseworthy is always appreciated.
