Beat the heat

  1. Well you are not wrong. Have a wonderful summer! Here we are just starting the rainy season.

    • You as well. No rainy season in Arizona! πŸ™‚ I’m a fan of dry red wine, but when it’s over 100F every day, and sometimes well over that, chilled white or rosΓ© is the only way to go.

  2. Dan Antion says:

Now, there’s a technique worth trying.

    • No reds in this heat, Dan, but rosΓ© or white nicely chilled is perfect. Add a dish of olives from Queen Creek Olive Mill and it’s a great pre-dinner happy hour combination.

    Cool! πŸ₯‚

    That’s a pretty one, but he’s a red wine drinker. Chilled if it’s a warm day πŸ€£πŸ·πŸ’•

    • He’s high-maintenance, isn’t he, Jo? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’m not a big fan of chilled red wine, but a nice sangria is always appreciated, red wine one for preference, so perhaps we can have a meeting of the wine minds there.

  5. Resa says:

That looks refreshing! Also, it’s a very interesting shot.
It’s like living in a sauna up here!

  6. That’s a cool image – looks almost like a sci-fi robot or movie scene

  7. Salut, mon amie! I raise my ice-cold glass of lemonade to you! I just got back in from a hike and it got hot up there and it looks like I beat a thunderstorm by minutes! My lemonade is going down really fast and it’s so good! Stay cool! πŸ˜€

    • We just finished the latest batch of lemonade this weekend and I need to start juicing lemons for the next batch. Sounds pretty good. Glad you made it back without getting wet! Hope you had a nice hike.

      • I wish I could say mine was homemade, but I haven’t been into making stuff homemade for quite a number of years now. I have got spoiled with the Deli, and premade since the kids grew up and left home.

Mine was Zero Calorie Vitamin water. I squeeze fresh lemon juice in a glass, run a wedge around the rim add ice, the wedge and pour in the chilled bottle. It’s so good! πŸ™‚

      • BTW, I ordered the photography book you recommended. Now to get started. First this week, though, is getting our vehicles titled and licensed and getting our AZ drivers’ licenses. Lots of work and money!!

      • Ah yes. I went through that last year. Our vehicle registration costs more here, but we don’t have to do smog certs at all! Not in our county at least. Other counties in NV they do, but not in our rural one thank GOD!

      • I hope you like the book and the exercises and learn a lot about your camera and how to ”
see” while doing the exercises. I still refer to these books. Did I tell you I have 4 of his book? I do and refer to them if I forget anything.

Beautiful shot – would be perfect for a high end jewelry store methinks!

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
