๐ It was fun to see them like this. I wonder whether they really are thinking anything about the other bird or not. Maybe who’s going to get the fish once they get back to fishing.
Thanks, Deborah. I wish I could have it be a closer shot, but then I’d have to exclude one of them and that would make it just another bird photo. ๐ Gunslinger fishing birds.
๐ I think that the dark one is the shadow of the heron because I only saw two birds (except for the ducks in the front) and when I zoom in much closer, it still appears to be a shadow. But I know what you mean.
It definitely is and lots of insects as well for those who prefer them. ๐ Not a lot of water around other places in this area, so it’s prime real estate for these types of birds.
Funny capture – they keep distance, but both still keep an eye on the neighbor. ๐

Beautiful – lovely to see them all aware of each other. And I like the strong shadow of the heron.
Lots of strong shadows here, Debbie, even this early in the morning. ๐ Don’t you wonder what they’re actually thinking?
Who blinked first? LOL! Great image, Janet!

even birds are mindful of social distancing LOL! great capture, Janet! ๐
Theyโre giving it a lot more than six feet, although no masks, so theyโd better keep observing the distance. ๐
Reminded me of the song “from a distance” by Better Midler. Clearly they are social distancing
No bird brains they!
The two in the right make me think of Heckle & Jeckle.

Looks like that might be a great fishing spot!

And for us who like to watch them!
