And this one stayed for quite a long time. 🙂 I was happy I’d brought the phone out with me. Usually when sitting on the porch of the cabin, I had both phone and camera…just in case.
Very true. I got quite a few shots, as it seemed in no hurry to fly away. Thank goodness I could use my right hand on the phone, else it might have been an opportunity missed. 🙂
I was fortunate to be able to use my right hand to get the phone in play to take the photos. 🙂 It didn’t want to fly away, though, so I had plenty time to work.
Just imagine me sitting on the deck with a book, then trying to get my phone ready to take some photos with my right hand while this beauty sat on my left wrist. Not the easiest thing in the world, but thankfully it worked.
I’m not a fan of insects generally but some are irresistible, aren’t they? 🙂 🙂 Have a good weekend, Janet!
Thanks, Jo. There are plenty insects I don’t care to see up close and personal, but this isn’t one of them. 🙂
Such a special encounter!
That it definitely was!! 🙂
How nice. It is not often that we experience a butterfly landing on us. Wonderful.

Neato! This photo was worth the tickle I’d say.

how amazing
It really was, Beth. Quite wonderful.
Heehee!
Indeed. It was a cool few minutes.
Just beautiful, the details, the colors 🙂

janet
That’s crazy because they can be shifty.
They also say butterflies imply goodness, who knows!
That is awesome Janet!
I was astonished not only that it landed on me but that it stayed so long. 🙂
That is great
Beautiful moth! Great shot.
Good thing it landed on my left arm/hand so I could actually wield the phone with my right. Otherwise it would have been grim!! 🙂
janet
You’re better at one hand phone photos than I am! Good catch.
😊
That is very cool. I’ll bet it did tickle!
But with a creature so light, not too much. 🙂 It was such a wonderful couple of minutes.
Luckily it landed on your non camera-wielding hand 😀
Yes, I’d have had a much more difficult time with the phone in my left hand!! He was very calm and sat/walked there for some time.
OK fess up Janet – that was someone else’s hand right?!?! Either way, great shot.
That was my left arm/hand and my right was working feverishly to take shots with my phone! This guy just didn’t fly away, which was awesome. 🙂
Wow – you must have crazy stable hands Janet. My shot would be totally fuzzy!
🙂
Great photo! I love it when butterflies feel safe enough to take a break on me.
It’s great, isn’t it?
BEAUTIFUL shot!!

You did great!
