Usually there aren’t any clouds in the sky in Arizona but when there are, they not only provide a bit of shade but the opportunity for a spectacular sunrise (or sunset if you’re at the other end of the day.) A few days ago at the Preserve, this one stunned me, the perfect way to start a day, so I share it with you.

These are beautiful. Is that a heron in the bottom photo? Is he taking off or landing or just fluffing. In any case, it’s a great photo. I love seeing the sun’s rays shine through the clouds.
It’s an egret which, strictly speaking, is a heron, something I didn’t know before looking up the different kinds of egrets after we moved here. 🙂 I love the sun’s rays like that as well. It always makes me think of the glory of God shining down. 🙂
My thoughts exactly. When our daughter was little and we’d see those while driving, I’d say “there’s a God!”
Ah, Beautiful Arizona. I use to love to watch the lighting shows that nature produced in Arizona. They were amazing.
We’ve certainly seen some spectacular lightning since we’ve been here, Peggy, but of course not much resulting rain.
Arizona has its monsoon season from June to September. Then the rain falls and the water rolls. Be careful about getting in steam beds, ditches and low lying areas – because an unexpected wall of water can come rolling at you from a storm far away. I have seen this myself.
We’re in monsoon season right now and there are lots of signs in low places saying not to enter if there’s water. Every year someone gets washed away (person or vehicle or both). And it might not even be raining where you are.
So true about rain far away.
That light is gorgeous and the view is so pretty.
I noticed the clouds and light while I was driving to the Preserve and was just praying it would still be there when I arrived and could find a decent spot for a photo. 🙂
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks, Aletta. I thought so. 😊
Magnificent
It truly was, Amy. 🙂
It really is beautiful, Janet. That ray of sunshine must have been shining on someone pretty special that morning.
🙂 Nice of you to say, although I was a long ways away from where it was shining. It did shine on my heart, however.
beautiful! 🙂
It was quite glorious. 🙂
Very gorgeous, Janet!
It was a sight to gladden my heart, Resa, that’s for sure.
Serene and stunning! ❤️🦋🌀
Thanks, Sheila. It was a joy to see it.
