Thanks, Dan. One of the things I like about the shot is that it’s a little difficult to tell what’s water, what’s reflection, how deep the water is, etc. Makes you take a second or third look, I think.
Often I’d slowly ease toward the river bank only to have the frog or frogs leap into the water where I couldn’t see them. This time my telephoto helped me capture this one. π

This one wasn’t in our yard. We live in Arizona now and there’s not enough water in our yard for mosquitoes to flourish. π This guy was back in Illinois in the DuPage River.
Heβs a handsome fellow
He certainly is. π

A wise choice, Drake. π
Oh, he is cute, Janet. A lovely wet shot
Thanks, Debbie. It was hard to choose but his cuteness won the day.
Great photo. I Iove the reflection.

Waiting to turn back into a prince, is he?
Possibly, but I already have one, so I didn’t test that theory. π
Ah sweet!
Not my prince!
I already have one, so not mine either. π
What a sweet little creature, and you captured it wonderfully, Janet.
OH, gotta go for not too, long. Be back!

Worked well! Sneaking up on wildlife is quite the ability.
What a great find and pose! I’m surprised it didn’t submerge straight-away!
They often did, but I didn’t have to get too close since I had the telephoto lens. π
what a cutie! such a happy and content look! great find, Janet! π
Thanks, Lola.
I envy that frog! It’s 106 degrees out here today!
113 here so I feel your pain. π₯΅
Soooo cute! π
Even if heβs not a prince. π
If I had to kiss a frog, Iβd choose this one. π€£

We have tons of tree frogs in my yard but I only hear them, rarely see them.

My late husband was born in Illinois.
I was born there but then didn’t live there again until about 8 years ago.
