It’s been a full, good, but very long day. It’s 9:30 pm and I need to go to sleep. So I almost didn’t do a post this week…but decided instead that I’d not exactly cheat but share a photo where there is a door but it’s not the star attraction. This is the visitor center at Saguaro National Park which we visit again two days ago to share it with our older daughter who’s visiting us for the week. The door is just an ordinary door, the park anything but ordinary, the shadows extraordinary.
And now, good night, and a blessed Thursday to each of you.

Really fascinating magnificent light and shadow collaboration. 🙂
Thanks, Drake. I thought it was quite striking.

I agree! The shadows are amazing!
Thanks, Aletta.
For this lady (me) who is always dizzy and has lots of vertigo problems – this makes me dizzy just to look at it, but it is a great picture.
Then thanks for looking even briefly and enjoying it. 🙂
😉
Cool photo. With nice shadows like these, a door is secondary. 😉
🙂 Thanks, Ally. I just couldn’t face staying up any longer and this shot was too good not to share.
Lovely.
Thanks. Those shadows were just amazing.

Great shadows! I get dizzy looking at it…
That could happen alright, but at least you’re sitting down, aren’t you? 🙂
janet
This is an optical illusion!
The funny thing is that my husband, who was there and standing just to the side, didn’t even notice the shadows until he saw my photo this morning!!!

A wonderful capture, Janet. The shadows were obviously begging to be photographed. 😃
I heard them begging loud and clear. 🙂
🤣
amazing shadows! great capture! 🙂
Glad you enjoyed them, Wilma. They were too good to pass up.

It’s a great photo Janet; definitely too good not to share
Glad you thought so, Su. I absolutely love it. 🙂
This is one of those times when I can say, who cares about the door. What a cool photo!
Whoa I like the lines! Reminds me of an abstract painting. Janet, how about trying it again – maybe you can send me an email, then you should get my reply, right? Hope so, because I really like you to get the whole story. junie15blooms@yahoo.com and my name there iw Saskia van Buren. Wishing you success:):)
Lots of lines there, that’s for sure. I just sent you a short email to see if it goes through. Hopefully we’ll have better luck this time!! 😉
I hope you got a good rest. This week ran away from me. I’m catching up. I really like the photo.
Glad you like the photo, Dan. I’ve been playing catch up all week but since our daughter leaves tomorrow, things will get less busy. 🙂 But it’s been lots of fun having her visit, so I don’t mind. Got a reasonable night’s sleep, which I really needed.
That’s the best. 😴
I kept wondering if you get snow there and what a sight it would be to add that element. Very cool photo!
In this part of Arizona, there won’t be snow but not far from Saguaro National Park is Mt. Lemmon and they have skiing at over 9,000′ so there will be snow there. Also at Flagstaff, but alas, not where we live in the Phoenix area. I’ll have to go elsewhere for my winter/snow fix now. 🙂
Good to know 😊
This is a gorgeous shot Janet. Seriously worthy of framing and putting on display. You might consider experimenting with a B&W version as well. I just love it!
Merci beaucoup, Norm! That’s much appreciated. I’m partial to it myself.
Very nice to have your daughter visit. I love your photo of shadows!
Thanks, Brenda. 🙂 It was a delightful visit and any excuse to revisit the park is a good one.
What a great eye you have for a shot. The shadows are amazing.
Thanks, Jean. They were just awesome and begging to be photographed. 🙂

Wow! Great shot! It’s almost eyebending. Beautiful light and shadow. I agree with Norm: a B&W version would be interesting, too.
It’s almost B&W naturally or at least black and tan. 🙂 It is rather eye-bending and I can’t believe my husband didn’t even notice it. 🙂
Crazy! It’s like an optical illusion.
I know it’s not the same, but it made me think about old 331/3 records that had the swirl on it, and when you put it on the turntable it was endless….or like that old TV show…The Time Tunnel.
It IS like an optical illusion, Resa. Don’t look too long or you might be sucked in and end in…Arizona. 🙂
Eeeeeeeeee!
I hope you slept well. The light and shadow play are wonderful.
Thanks. Can’t believe my husband didn’t even notice the shadows/pattern. 🙂
Feeling dizzy but I agree with the other comments…amazing shadows!
Thanks, Teresa. They were just amazing.
