Not everything in nature is large and/or showy. Look closely and you can see other things that bring joy, such as this little cutie hiding among the reeds.
Look higher and you might see this somewhat fierce-looking guy sporting some very natty threads!
My friends in most of the rest of the US are talking about the chilling effect of fall/autumn. Believe me, we’re feeling the chill, too! It’s been 105 or below for the high for some days now and later this week, temperatures are set to plunge into the 90’s or possibly even 89 for the high! Getting my fleeces out from where they’re packed as we speak. We even have some leaves in fall colors, although most of them are still attached. 🙂 It’s definitely a new adventure.
I am from Croatia, Slavonia County. We have a beautiful fall, warm and dry (except for the occasional rain that just adds another note to the colors). I described it in my text Jesen 2020. The text is in Croatian, but the photos speak all languages. I also enjoy the little things that mean life.

Beautiful post. Think Fall is coming faster than normal in many areas. Having cool mornings in Arkansas which are quite unnormal at this time of the year. Lovely photos.

Thanks, Judy. I did leave my fleeces packed in a box and so far have only used a small number of tops of any kind. Make doing laundry easy because all the summer weight/size things don’t take up much room and especially here they dry in such a short time. I got rid of a lot of clothes before we moved and the majority are still lying or hanging where I put them when we moved in. It will be interesting to see what I use and what I don’t.
Oh wow, you and Rob are in the same boat with that chill going on there. It’s so hard to imagine how different the climates are, until you’re there in the heat experiencing it first hand. We’ve had our first frost, and second one too this week here at Wild Ozark.
Hard to imagine frost these days, Madison, except with longing. 🙂 Once we’d been here awhile, we realized why my dad used to call us and say it was going to be a nice day because it was only getting to the 90’s. 🙂

The birds and orange leaves are lovely!! It’s 82 here today, but it’s getting cold in the mornings. It was only 41 this morning.
It’s still warmer than that here–into the 90’s and possibly dipping just into the 80’s with low’s in the 60’s and maybe upper 50’s–but it’s wonderful!! 🙂
Fall will be your favorite season there too. 😀
The real question is when will fall actually arrive?? 🙂 September is the start of fall in most parts of the US, but certainly not here.

Ah, yes, the birds. My focus has shifted to birds out here as the Preserve is full of them.
