This one’s been hanging out here for a month or more. Some people speculated that it came up because of the hurricane/s, but I have no idea. I’ve just been thrilled to see it so many times. I hope the pelicans are still there when I go back Monday.
Oh we DO so love our spoonbills, don’t we Janet?! I’m thinking mother nature made up for the goofy looking bill by giving them such beautiful coloring. Just sayin’
Certainly posing!
๐ And with the grackles’ heads pointed upward, it really looked as if they were admiring.
๐๐
๐ to have that self confidence,
๐ Maybe if you were decked out in pink feathers?
Thatโll do it, do you think black feathers would work ๐
Definitely! Iโd prefer black as well. ๐
Poser
๐ Yes.
Can’t argue with that sentiment. ๐
It looked as though the grackles certainly thought so. ๐ Have a wonderful weekend, Judy.
Great photo, Janet. When I saw the title, I wondered which of our cats had hacked into your blog.
Ha! I get that, Dan. ๐ Happy weekend.
Oh my! A Rosette Spoonbill!! I’ve only seen them in captivity. How exciting to see one on the preserve!

I hope it is!
What a nice bird!
Isnโt it? ๐
Pride comes before a fall? ๐ ๐
Sounds good but Iโve never seen a bird fall unless headed for prey. ๐
It looks so precarious perched there. ๐
Talk about putting yourself on a pedestal there… Haha!
True. Some of these birds love to perch either there or slightly lower down on the platform.
haha, that’s attitude!
๐ฅฐ
Oh yes, self confidence right there.
๐ Pretty in pink.
And she knows that she’s pretty!
Looks like it, but who can even know if it’s a she?? ๐

๐ They are rather interesting, aren’t they? I wonder how they can preen with that bill.
Even the other birds are agog at the rare beauty of the spoonbill!
Ha! At least s/he thinks so. ๐
Hahaha! Good one, Janet!
And I thought it was going to be a cat.
Tells you something about cats, doesn’t it, that several people thought that. ๐
Interesting… well that’s a cat fact, and I do adore them!
Precious pink feather on display … fun.
It was fun to see it sitting up there. ๐
I love watching the birds on my trees. They are fabulous lil home creators. ~~~ : – )
