Drake, I don’t get the reference to “needles and pins” but I’m glad you liked the shot. I saw a perfect one yesterday with the rabbit standing straight up with its forepaws crossed…but my Nikon battery had run out. š¦ My own fault for not charging it after not using it for some time.
“Needles and Pins” is a rock song credited to rhe american writers Jack Nitzsche and Sonny Bono – recorded first time in 1963 and other versions followed like the band Smokie. š
š There are so many rabbits at the Preserve that I can almost always see one standing up like this to eat. Hadn’t really seen that much before coming here, but it’s pretty cute.
I know there are coyotes at the Preserve, but they don’t seem to be doing a very good job with the rabbits. š I’m surprised there aren’t lots of hawks!
I don’t think that has anything to do with it. I know there are some hawks, but I haven’t seen them. There are quite a few people there, so I imagine coyotes are there either very early in the morning or during the night when the Preserve is closed. I did see a coyote trot across a main street I was driving on the other day, across three lanes of traffic each way!
WOW … we were told by the community watch that there are coyotes wandering. They said to be cautious with small dogs. They should be safely guarded. We have a baby bald eagle in a tree on the other side of the lake. Also, I hear a screech owl at night. I love the sounds but I safely stay inside my little lanai cage and watch from afar.

Wonderfully captured – come to think of “Needles and pins”. š

I looked up the song but must have missed the connection to the post to when I skimmed the lyrics. š¦
It was only the title I had in mind. š
Aww, he’s cute š š
He is, but it wouldn’t be so cute if he were eating something in the yard. At the Preserve, no one cares. š
V. well caught, Janet. This rabbit is definitely auditioning for a picture book.

That’s one wag to get to the top shelf goodies.
š Lots more above that, but he’s have to pole vault to get any higher. Now THAT would be a sight!!
Nice shot
must be Arizona, there’s thorns on the plant !
Very true. š
An amazing capture but is it square?
It looked like it when I cropped it but now that I see it on the blog it doesn’t look as square. I’ll try again. š¦
WP does strange things sometimes!
I think I’ve got it squared up now. š
Yay š
And looking even cuter in a square. Such a wonderful capture
Thanks, Becky. š
His coat looks like it’s been caught on a thorn or two.
Probably has. Arizona is full of plants with thorns. š
janet
I hoped he filled up. Cute … nice capture, Janet.
Be Safe š· ⦠Izzy š
There are no skinny rabbits at the Preserve so we can be sure none of them are going hungry. š
ha ha we had a bunny we were feeding.
We learned quickly not to do that. The bobcats and wildlife ate many of them. Sad but nature.

It makes you wonder if nature is being affected by this virus; a bit odd and scary.

I hope it was able to get all it wanted and hopped off a happy bunny. š
I’m quite sure it did and was. š
So cute!!!
Definitely…especially when not chomping in your garden. š
š
Oh, well captured, Janet!
Thanks, Sue. Iām getting used to seeing these cuties nibbling in the standing position, but I still find it cute and photo-worthy. š
Keep going!
If all the world was a buffet… Lucky little critter! š
To him it is. š
Nothing cuter than the south end of a north bound bunny rabbit.
A nice riff on my dad’s phrase that someone is the north end of a horse going south. š
Talk about stretch goals! Great capture!
These little guys can stretch quite a distance for that bit of food they so desire. It’s quite funny and cute.
