Haunting. The black and white treatment suits this one well, highlighting all the curves and sharp edges. It looks like nature’s answer to barbed wire.
There are a lot of twisted and textured plants here and a lot that have actual barbs of some sort. 🙂 You certainly have to be careful if walking off trails.
Ansel Adams could find and capture beauty anywhere. I think he would have loved this one Janet. The curve of the intertwined base is wonderful and the use of B&W is perfect for it. Wouldn’t it be marvelous to climb inside his brain during one of his shoots to see things as he saw them?! In this case, I think he’d have agreed wholeheartedly with your choice.
What fabulous lines! 😊
Here there are lots of twisted trees and plants. It’s quite fascinating and I thought it would work well in B&W. Glad you liked it.

His monochrome photography are awesome…yours is doing great too!
🙂 His photography is quite something, isn’t it? I don’t do a lot of monochrome, but this tree seemed to call for it.
dry nice and adams-y
Thanks, Yvette.
typo – dry was “very”
🙂
Stunning in black and white!
Thanks, Aletta. 🙂
And in the style of Janet 🙂 🙂 Happy Saturday!
Thanks, Jo, and happy Saturday to you as well.
Interesting!
Hopefully in a good way. These trees have such interesting lines and textures.
Yes
I really like this. There was an Ansel Adams exhibit here recently that I wish I had gone to see. You made a great capture of this old tree ❤️
His photos are so beautiful. I’ve never seen an entire exhibit of them. That must have been impressive.
Nailed it!
Many thanks. 🙂
Anyone who doesn’t enjoy Ansel Adams has a problem. I like this photo – a lot!
I’m glad, Frank. I was happy with it and am thinking it might look good framed.
Good idea!!!!
Great monochrome!
Thanks so much.

Totally channeling the great man!
Thank you kindly. 🙂
This is such a great shot, Janet! Did you take it in b & w or convert it? 🌞
I took it in color but it was almost B&W already.
Gorgeous image in B&W, Janet. Nature is so magical.
Thanks very much, Sylvia. There’s a lot of magic at the Preserve.

And thank you very much in return, Tina. His photos are the kind that get right inside you. If I capture even a bit of that in my photos, I’m happy.
Twisty [roots?] never looked so cool! Love it.
That’s actually a tree, Ally. Things get a little twisted in my corner of the world. 🙂

Even cooler.
